Ignoring the parts we quibble about for a moment... to those of you living there and those of you there now for a visit: you lucky, lucky bastards!

Although given the choice I'd be further afield than a resort town, I see photos like this one from my last short visit and I sure do miss the beach walks, the food, the locals and the distance from central Bangkok!

One can find gutters to wallow in anywhere. Appreciate the good things and if you think of it, lift a glass for me here - 8,000 miles away.

I think it is far, far better to visit Pattaya than live here year after year. It does get tiring if your here long term. Even, the boys seem to get like clones with their hard luck stories, plain lies and deceit to get your euro, buck, yen, whatever.
However after saying that, Im still here nearly 10 years with few breaks. Why is what I want to know.

BB I know where that shot was taken from. The roof top restaurant at the Markland. I am right aren't I?

You are, indeed! I enjoyed my stay there. It was close to the beach for morning and sunset walking, within walking distance of the shops, BigC, and malls, easy to catch baht buses on their rounds, the breakfast buffet was more than adequate and the room rates were most reasonable. AsiaRooms priced a very nice high-level double room with an ocean view at $30USD/night, breakfast included.

If you remember my post about a morning walk in Pattaya, this is where we were staying

My BKK friend enjoyed being a distance from Boyztown, too! He's somewhat embarrassed by "that" facet of Thai tourism - so no, I have no idea how the hotel feels about joiners.

I'd stay there again in a heartbeat, myself.

PS - jvt2222 - I guess it depends on HOW you were thinking about me when you got laid last night. I may be easy, but I'm not cheap! LOL Thanks for the thought, though...
