June 29th, 2007, 03:13
According to EU standards all 51 Indonesian airlines are unsafe. Not anyone of them is allowed to enter European Community territories from yesterday onwards.

Indonesian authorities cancelled licenses of 9 airlines yesterday.

Travel agents are not allowed to sell connecting flights using Indonesian airlines.
International airlines are supposed to warn any passenger using connecting flights in Indonesia about this procedure.

These are another harsh draw backs on staggering Indonesian tourism hitting especially Bali, Lombock and some other popular islands

What choice do you have for a little bit of domestic travel in Indonesia?

Most Indonesian airlines are still flying. Nine of all 51 Indonesian airlines where grounded.

All 51 Indonesian airlines are just banned from entering European community territories (including overseas departments).

You can also fly around - if you like...

Travelling around Indonesia by bus, rail, and ferry is also an interesting experience. It's a great way to get some inside views and making new friends, but even the use "unsafe" airlines might be less risky.
