View Full Version : ROCK HARD BOYS BAR NOW OPEN IN JOMTIEN

June 10th, 2007, 15:18
Rock Hard Boys is the newest bar to open in Jomtien Complex located across from the Bondi Bar. Although relatively small, it offers both an Open Air Bar and an Air Conditioned indoor Lounge.

Happy Hour (6 тАУ 9 pm) offers good drink prices and a friendly staff of boys who refrain from high pressure but are available for company. Music is 70тАЩs / 80тАЩs mix played at a decibel level that still allows conversation without shouting.

After 9pm, the boys spice things up on stage with Free Shows throughout the evening. The Drink Menu, while not extensive, certainly will satisfy most customers and the prices are competitive with other Bars in the Soi.

A Boys Bar with a Neighborhood Bar feel, Rock Hard Boys deserves a look.

Jomtien Complex appears on the upswing again with a number of new Bars and Restaurants positioning itself as the alternative to the pricey, touristy glitz of Boyztown and the rowdier appeal of Sunee Plaza.

Clever name, Rock Hard. Hard Rock can't complain and Rock Hard sounds like a porno star. Hot name..

I thought Good Boys was clever as well but it is only if lady boys ring your ding dong. A rose is a rose is a rose......... :cat:

Well did anyone check out ROCK HARD BOYS?
I just want to know if its worth walking all the way there from Sunee to get there,,and can to go to my other favourite bar right on the Jomtien beach called the BAMBOO BAR.,right near the Police box.

Couldnt of been much good if no ones posted any raving reviews about this ROCK HARD BOYS.
Oh well I think I will stick to my reading at the THAIS4LIFE bookshop.

rock hard isnt fully functional yet. staffing problems etc. Looks very inviting though and im sure it will be a big hit!

I sat at Montys last night and counted 6 boys working. And 3 customers out front. (didnt see inside) I approached the owner and asked if i can visit and make photos and he is agreeable so will post them as soon as i can with a more detailed review.

If the boy who kept wiggling his ass all night and running around with no shirt on stays i think i might be visiting a few times lol

Looking forward to the pictures Oogleman.
Perhaps its worth giving businesses who set up, particularly in the complex where business seems not as good, a bit of a go.
All bars have their (um) ups and downs. One week nothing, the next week.......

I went last night and there were around 8 hunky boys and the shows were something else. The place is small but comfortable and inviting which suits me more than the big open space places where one cannot have sanook without an audience. Alas i forgot my camera - i shall remedy this shortly. Stay tuned!

They had some new hunky guys last night and one with a king sized thingy - will try snap them tonight,

June 25th, 2007, 23:21
someone said earlie that they had seen some "hynky" boys , and that got me interested, but from the pictures, it is obvious that these lads are all nellies, some more fem than others, but hardly a group of hunky lads. Now if fems, nellies and ladyboys are to your liking, then this would a bar of interest for you.

Hello John, i understand what you are saying and I also agree with the "each to his own"--but as I mentioned in another post, it seems that so many of the bars in pattaya are filled with this type of "soft" to "very soft" lad--actually, from the photos, some of the nellies at Rock Hard are better looking nellies than I have seen in some of the bars in b-town--especially those on soi 1--dream, lucky 7, dynamite, etc--I have been traveling to thailand for over 20 years and was coming to pattaya when the second road was just a dirt road and you did not have to worry about the traffic when crossing but had to worry, in the rainy summer months, that the baht buses would pass you quickly and splash mud all over you. In those days, there were far fewer bars, of course, but even five years ago, the bars did actually seem to have far more truly "hunky" lads--when talking to some of the mamasans I know and asking why so many ladyboys, fems, they tell me that many of the lads have gone home now as there are so few customers and the bars have to have some kind of lads dancing or the customers won't come in at all and the bars will sell no drinks (the true profit area)--as I am sure many of you have seen, if you are sitting in some of those bars, some customers come in or take a look thru the open door and move on their way, greatly disappointed at what they see.

Again, no offense to those who emjoy the nellies, fems, ladyboys, but for myself and many of my friends, b-town always had a ready supply of the more masculine boys--and I am not talking Tawan muscle lads--but more handsome, sexy--rather than pretty, effiminate--types and sunnee was always available for those who liked the smaller, nellie types--now, it really requires a trip to bkk to find the type of lads I enjoy. I among the crowd I have seen post here who say I am gay because i enjoy the company of men--and want lads that look like young men, not young girls or ladies.

I recognize one of those Nellies as formerly working at Howards......definitely not my type......but i usually had my BF with me....so they didnt bother me too much...

Well it looks like the owner has got his act together. What a difference a week makes!!!

I shall make the effort to go back in there again soon.

This place is like no other in JomTien (and maybe Pattaya). Audience participation encouraged and the boyz really give their all. "Bew" the 50/50 Thai/farang is a doll. Only half a dozen boyz when I was there but the owner is hoping to add more staff shortly. I suggest you rush back.

June 27th, 2007, 09:28
Rush back if nellies and ladyboys are your cup of tea--otherwise, some of us do not like boys who are "dolls", but lads who are actually young men and look like it---also, from a few of the other pictures shown, I do know that many visitors, whether or not they like nellies, do not like some lad trying to straddle them as they sit in the audience of a show, especially a lad that they might not find all that attractive.

With nellies, it is not just the look, but the fem mannerisms that they share--the woman-like behavior in their dancing, the crossed arm stance when on stage, the budding nipples (for those who take the hormone tablets), the high pitched--often hormone-induced voices, the long fingernails on all fingers (not just the little finger as many Thai lads have as a custom), the make-up/lipstick, and when offed, you can see them dressing in very feminine clothes--what a turn on for gay men??

June 27th, 2007, 09:48
Those are some of the least attractive boys I've seen in a long time. I'm happy for them, though, that they can make a living.

June 27th, 2007, 13:07
no, i don't happen to be the "bend-over" type, which makes my task of finding the more masculine, handsome, non-nellie lads willing to bend over all that more difficult--the biggest turnoff is to be f---ing a lad and have him screaming and yipping like a woman--which is what seems to turn on my friends who prefer to take the nellies (usually accommodating) for a shag----many of my friends who prefer to bend over find the masculine lads very accommodating and good luck to them--again, to each his own.

June 27th, 2007, 14:09
depends what time you go - thay have more new boys and 3 very masculine ones. Judging by the amount of new customers dropping in they are liking what they see. I hope he succeeds for the benefit of the area. You need choices nearby so you dont have to walk or get a bus.

Now there are Bondi/Bj bar/Montys/Rock Hard/question mark/ two faces and more all within 100 metres.

June 27th, 2007, 16:23
Jomtien is a good change of pace from the Boyztown area and Sunee Plaza.
Lots of good places to eat and now also to have some fun and see/meet some Thai guys.
Owner of Rock Hard seems like a good guy and there were plenty of boys/men and all
were friendly and frisky. I didn't see the shower show but it looks little it will be fun and
the new no-smoking cigarettes/cigars/pipes inside the a/c part of the bar is inspired and
along with Monty's policy at Over the Rainbow across the soi, it is the start of something
great.

One of the marvels of the boy/man gay scene in places like Pattaya/Jomtien is the variety
of guys available, which range from the most feminine to the most masculine and the
vast majority somewhere in between. Enjoy the diversity and if one type doesn't work for
you, do you really think it is necessary to call them names like muscle marys or nellies.?

Isn't there enough hate out there in the straight world without gaymen calling each other names
because they don't find butch guys with tattooes or feminine gay boys with makeup attractive?

Forum Members...

I have debated with myself this day about this posting, but I feel compelled to do it!

For your information:

The owner of the Rock Hard Boys Club has posted a sign on the entrance saying he is closed until
Wednesday night....as he has gone to Udon Thani
"to bring 25 more for your pleasure" ...... so says the sign!

It seems some of his boys have left during recent days...

For the record, sadly, I have withdrawn my recommendation for the Rock Hard Boys Club
and I shall not be a customer of theirs.

I have deleted my prior postings regarding this business which is
located opposite Monty's and The Bondi in Jomtien Complex.

I am a strong advocate of seeing all the enterprises within the gay business community be successful,
but I do believe club owners need to use some common courtesy and discretion in the recruitment of boys for their clubs ...
which I believe is in the best interests of all concerned.

TravelerJim

Jim I am absolutely devastated by this news of yours, you have got me reaching for the Prozac even as I am typing this reply to you. I hope you have got some ideas for follow up posts as to just how the gay community in Pattaya is going to be able to survive this news, that Rock Hard is going to be closed until Wednesday.

Buddha forbid that Monty should ever close his doors as well, especially if he chooses to do so at the same time as Rock Hard. How the fuck will we all be expected to cope if that happens? It will have all of us for sure, looking for either a long piece of rope, or a gun with two bullets, just in case the first one doesn't work.http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u152/GeorgeThai/rolleyes.gif

Come on Jim, take a chill pill, you are making all of this this out to sound as though it is some type of earth shattering event, when in reality mate, no one really gives a fuck about the place or, and I honestly mean no offense to you in saying this, the fact that you have withdrawn your recommendation for it.

I am sure that the majority of members here are the same as me, in so much as they would never allow anyone to make up their mind for them as to whether or not they visit a particular venue, no matter who the person is that either recommends it, or gives it a slating.

Out of curiosity, just what dastardly deed has the owner of Rock Hard done to bring all of this about, whereby he has obviously caused you some stress you could have no doubt done without? Apart from that is, what you have told us above of his going on a recruitment drive to Udon Thani, for the purpose of bringing new "boys" back to his club?

I must admit though Jim, that this news is a first on me. A first in the sense, that I have never heard of a farang bar owner going up country to do his own recruiting before. Could what he is doing be a first? It wouldn't surprise me to find out that it isn't, especially with all the bizarre things that are always happening, along with all of those that have happened in the past here.

Perhaps the likes of Kevin, or Crazy Dragon, will be able to enlighten us on this, by revealing as to whether or not they have ever heard of such a thing before. I guess we shall have to wait and see. http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u152/GeorgeThai/shrugs.gif

has it reopened? anyone been?

NO still closed as of Thursday night...

The owners bf - Nueng - is still taking several of the boys to Mi Mic Bar - Sunee Plaza -
next to Forest House and old K-Boys Club...has not taken all the boys...
where Nueng has worked for many years.

Some of the other Rock Hard boys have been seen reporting for work in the late afternoons..
to no avail as the bar is still closed...they gather then leave wondering what is happening???

Wonder if the owner will be able to make payroll for the boys he has had this month...
with the 1st of August coming next week ?
A very valid question....

I hope so as the boys he has had employed there need the baht ..especially since the club has been closed this week...
and on the 29 & 30th.... bars will be CLOSED for Buddhist special days...

And with so called 25 more boys from Isaan - Udon Thani ...where will he put them...
as Oogleman says - so small and cannot accommodate 25 new boys...

And from Monty's recent experience, the boys will probably have been promised much by the Mamasan
(same Mamasan as Monty had employed to gather new Isaan Boys, Singers and Dancers)...
with NO clue that there earnings were to come greatly from "taking care of customers"...
to get them to come to Pattaya ....with little delivery....so sad - but TRUE ....indeed!

I have heard the stories personally from the boys.

Promise the boys 4,000 baht monthly, free room, free food .....
and they can earn more in tips to be able to send home baht to family ...
and save even more baht to be able to open their own future businesses in Isaan..
such pipe dreams and promises as told to the Isaan boys by a Mamasan....Never to be realized!

It will be interesting to hear the stories from the new boys ...
that do get caught up in the net from Rock Hard Boys Club...
after they have been here 3 or 4 weeks..and payroll is to be paid...

So goes the sage of Rock Hard Boys Club... lots of hype and sadly,
I believe little follow through and many disbelieving Isaan boys soon to wake up!

The Jomtien Complex can use a good boys bar...
to complement Bondi and Monty's.

Bravo Traveler Jim.. First time that the rosy eyed goody gumdrops sweetheart of all gaythailand forums has posted
something critical and interesting like casting disbelief on the claims of the Isan busloads of virgins coming to town and not kissing the asses of the bar owners.

good man.. why TJ almost stated that there is some exploitation and half truths from the mamasan/ owners to the
naive boys and this is akin to a R.C. priest doubting some dogma like papal infallibility or the inalienable rights of
the same priesthood to deflower the altar boys.

It looks like Mr. Rogers (USA TV Good Neighbor) has throw away the cardigan sweater and left the neighborhood... :cat:

P.S. I was nauseated by Mr. Rogers and still despise the R.C. Church, the Vatican mafia and many but not all mamasans. This last statement
is the interest of self disclosure and it really isn't TJ's fault that the he reminds me of Mr. Rogers. I am sure TJ is a good man but
being nice all the time can be bloody boring. I should get a mean feather tickling from the Mr.Rogers fans and I apologize in advance...

The Rock Hard Boys Club is now OPEN again...
they re-opened Friday night...

I counted about 15 boys Friday night at Rock Hard Boys Club...
the owner says he now has about 20 in total.

I chatted with the owner at quite length about his club
and the boys and their situations...I wanted to be hear personally the owners thoughts about his club.

May I add he was most pleasant and it is apparent he is trying to provide a good club
in which customers can enjoy their visit to his establishment.
These are trying times for any gay club in Pattaya with low season and fewer visitors.

I did go inside to relax and chatted with the owner...the music he has selected allows for
conversations to be clearly heard..thank goodness - no loud music ...and NO SMOKING inside the air conditioned room...
and I complimented him on his selection of music and the NO SMOKING rule for inside the air conditioned club.

The lounge chairs inside are also very comfortable to sit in...
and there are two stage type podiums.

The drinks are all 90 baht...and if you buy a drink for a boy, 20 baht of the sale goes to the boy.

Much like Happy Boys Bar in South Pattaya, the boys are wearing a boxer type short ....
and body muscle shirt - which many times the shirt is off....
and I must add the boys are attractive too :-) ...

I believe from what I observed...
there is someone for everyone...at Rock Hard Boys Club... :-)

There is NO show at this time.

I noted a good flow of farangs entering the club during the time I visited with the owner
and observed the clubs operation.

As I have said before, the Jomtien Complex - as in all gay clubs and businesses in Thailand -
the needs for our support for the gay businesses - especially during the low season is important....
and having the Bondi, Monty's and Rock Hard Boys Club there in South Pattaya - Jomtien Beach area -
gives us a good selection of music and choices to enjoy our evenings.

I do wish them well...and if you are in the area, do stop by and say HI to the owner...
he will welcome you and so will the 20 boys he has on his Staff in the club :-)

TravelerJim

ps...The owner says he will be OPEN these coming holidays - July 29th and 30th...
Rock Hard Boys Club...open daily and nightly from about 5:00 in the afternoon until early morning hours.
NO alcohol served, during the religious Thai Buddhist holidays, but YOU will be welcomed :-)

Jim:

The turn-around on your statements regarding Rock Hard Boys is intriguing.

According to the U.N. Convention on Human Trafficking, the crime consists of the intentional transport of persons within or across borders for the purposes of exploitation, usually involving deception of intent.

Trafficked persons are often not able to flee situations, even those not forcibly detained, due to shame, sense of failing one's family, removal from one's base of social support, etc.

This crime is punishable anywhere in the world under the rubric of Human Trafficking, but also may be prosecuted under other specific laws and statutes applicable in various countries based on the specific case - i.e., forced child labor, white slavery, unlawful syndicate activities.

The crime is now punishable in most countries through potential penalties of 5 years up to capital execution in a few nations.

Your description of the owner's alleged activities fits the bill.

I see that despite my absence, some poor bastards like Homi who have no life of their own, still find it fascinating to concentrate on my life and what I am doing in it. No doubt he will soon be fabricating some stories as to what I have been doing during my absence.

Thanks for asking Paul.

George.

Well Homi, not only are you a bald headed old cunt, but you are a lying bald headed old cunt that has even managed to distort the truth in the PM that I sent you. I wont bother going into detail of what I said to you, I will just post the pm here and let others make up their own minds.Teasing is such sweet fun

Since we're in the business of revealing the contents of PMs, maybe you'd like to post my reply?

The beauty for me about writing about George is he has me on ignore and refuses to answer my postsI do wonder why he doesn't do the same to me - clearly I irritate him. I suspect that the boyfriend is a sadist, and George a masochist, and the boyfriend makes him read my posts. I mean, having been together for 30 years they probably have to resort to some kinky scene to keep the magic alive, monogamously coupled and all that. Were George and the boyfriend at the charity event you mentioned recently, John? In leather, I suspect. Do you have a pic you can share?

Shame Homi,

Do you get pleasure from simply winding people up???

Why not put your high intellect to good use and share it with a lot of others who try to help the board and give a bit of constructive criticism which benefits us all , and/or useful info.

Instead you give us your well thought acid comments and sarcasm intent on showing us how clever you are!

Yes, we get the message, Pattaya is not your style of place

Now and again, your humour is funny, Daily doses are neither desired or required.

However, if it makes you happy, please carry on McDuff!

Thanks for your words Kevin, although I am pretty sure that they will fall on deaf ears. I would hope that you know, that I don't give a shit what people say about me, as long as there is an element of truth in it. This is something that the Colonel hasn't managed to achieve yet.

I see Botting smelled blood and was hoping there was going to be a kill. Tell you what homi, you do it. Post that reply here I can hear him saying those words, with a voice just like a a kid in the playground at a primary school. What a big fucking woman's blouse and a shit stirrer to add. It says a lot for the Rotarian's of Pattaya doesn't it, if they allowed someone of his class, or should I say arse, become president. http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u152/GeorgeThai/shake_head.gif

Well you are right about one thing Hommie, that is my BF and me being leather boys. To answer your question about the infamous story concerning the ubiquitous table at Jomtien complex that night, I had one of the best tables there. I arrived early and asked the owner, if he would make sure Botting was seated at least six table spaces away from me. As the place is not that big, that's how he probably ended up with that table over by the bar. http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u152/GeorgeThai/whistle.gif

Here's the picture you asked for Hommie and before I close, let me just say two words to you. Fuck You http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u152/GeorgeThai/2finger.gif

Thanks for your words Kevin, although I am pretty sure that they will fall on deaf earsIndeed they will - and already have. kquill is on my {Ignore} list. I do so value the insights Our Resident Bodhisattva George brings to Forum members in his quest to persuade us of the virtues of Smorgasbord Buddhism. His writings remind me so much of another great Buddhist ... is it the Dalai Lama?

August 26th, 2007, 22:47
the virtues of Smorgasbord Buddhism.OK Colonel, what's "Smorgasbord Buddhism"?

August 27th, 2007, 01:16
OK Colonel, what's "Smorgasbord Buddhism"?"Smorgasbord {name your own religion of choice}" was a phrase used by the late Pope Ringo II. Followers choose the precepts that most suit them, ignoring what is inconvenient. Take that concept common to all religions - enlightenment or salvation. It's usually held that detachment is an aid to maintaining that spiritual state. Equally promiscuity is a distraction from attaining/maintaining detachment. Hence the major world religions all clearly state that promiscuity and spirituality are inconsistent. For at least one of the denizens of Jomtien (no names, no pack drill) that's an inconvenient truth (where have I heard that phrase before?) and so both detachment and abjuring promiscuity were left on the smorgasbord. After all, if you're not interested in detachment, clearly its distractions are irrelevant

George you really are a class act aren't you? At least I am actually getting off my arse and doing something for the people of this country, both physically and financially, to help them. What do you do apart from support the families of bar boys by offing them? No, no you're quite wrong there John. George believes that despite all of his posts on the joys of bar-hopping for boys, we really know nothing about him, and he could truly be in a monogamous 30-year-long relationship. It's known as being "in denial" aka. The Second Noble Truth
