... I'm leaving out the tame stuff like spanking and going heavily overboard into real kinks, put under Gear if so wish. I know people are into army gear, leather gear, objects, and that sort of thing, as far as Im concerned that comes under Gear and I'm referring to SAFE stuff.

Maybe Jingthing could jump in here with some definitions of the meaning of each coloured hanky. I think I used to know but gave up caring many years ago (when I grew up and thought it was just plain silly?).

Aren't 'Bears' and 'Leather Boys' the only gay subsets who use these symbols anymore? 'Dykes' maybe, but I suppose not the same colours.
A "brown hanky"? Easy to guess ... but gross.

What about "Torp", no idea what colour thats meant to be. Do Thai gays follow a hanky code? I think it died out in the early eighties elsewhere, not sure, but I have really no idea about the colours and what they mean. If you see a hanky I suppose it doesn't matter what colour it is, its available then? Toilets and hankies and polari(I think it is) were for the days of the repressed homosexual Brit, not for us liberated continentals, we just make eye contact and have a bit of a wag, it soon becomes obvious if there is anything between you. Even hetero's up to a certain age seem to find this very flattering and are often easily convinced if good looking enough and worth the effort, tweak their vanity, give a wicked smile.

I once was similarly befuddled--My usual state, sure. `Thought I solved the problem: Orange, left pocket and have the tailor add a border of light blue with yellow dots but realized, in the nick of time there's a much simpler solution: When in Thailand, I just stick a damn thousand-baht-note on my forehead! But some people (No names) might need make a fan of them.

There are too many hanky colors to worry about... but in Palm Springs last summer I saw a couple guys with red hankies in their back pockets. I finally asked a fellow at the bar what the color meant, and he said "fisting".... (no thankyou). The only hanky I know about is a white one with boogers on it...
