The U.S.A. is more peaceful than Thailand? Go figure! Oh yes, the murder rate in Thailand rivals that of New York, which itself is higher than the average of the USA (murder rate = violent deaths per 1000 of population). That "gentle Thais" ploy is all about marketing - and look how many Westerners are taken in by it

Well. I guess I think of "peacefulness" more as the way the country conducts itself internationally.
