I am running windows xp...latest version on broadband (cable). Does anybody know a good Thai Font to install? I am computer literate, but not a tech, so it will have to be a simple download.

Thanks. :geek:

I have used thai fonts with my Windows and MS application from the following sources:

www.into-asia.com/thai_language/thaifont/ (http://www.into-asia.com/thai_language/thaifont/)

www.fedu.uec.ac.jp/ZzzThai/fonts.html (http://www.fedu.uec.ac.jp/ZzzThai/fonts.html)

Load them into the Windows font folder and they are there for all other MS applications.

Here is a guide for installation:

Recommend you get a Thai Keyboard. Once you have the font set up you can switch languages by a click. The Thai key boards carry QUERTY script at well. Working without the Thai characters at your finger tip is impossible.

a way to copy Thai to my notebook so I can have it translated, but when I past the copy it comes out in little blocks.

I will be in Thailand soon, so it is nothing urgent, but I do appreciate all of your help. :happy2:

Xuanloc, assuming the fonts are installed properly, once you copy the thai text to your laptop, use the font function in your word processor to switch to the thai font. The blocks should change to thai characters.

In XP with a Thai/English keyboard you just click the EN sign on the bottom menu and change it to Thai then go. That easy. NO program needed!

By the way, you don't really HAVE to buy a Thai keyboard. The other option is a set of Thai overlay stickers you can affix to your regular keyboard. These stickers are available at (among other places) The Pattaya Computing Center (sorry the name may be a bit off) 2nd road near P-Land Soi 2, east side (inland side) of the road near The Boat. Cost was 90 baht. They also have Thai keyboards there if you really want one, for (as I recall) about 250 baht. The same store also has a small Thai language study CD-rom selection, including one on reading/writing Thai.
