Hi whitedesire,

Not specifically talking about Whitedesire and Thai Airways but a lot are on stopover in Bangkok , with it being a main gateway of South Easy Asia, and travelling onwards. It does coincide around June/July/August the European Holidays, which of course, the airlines are well aware.

Many break their onward journeys with a two/three day break in Bangkok, some change planes etc.

You can be assured travel and Tourist trade is definitely down according to figures and it was not being denied, although the reasons for it, differed widely.

How are people going to go on this Year with a General election slap bang in the middle of high season, bar closures etc, It just becomes something else the pisses people off, on top of New visa regulations, New banking regulations and procedures, Bombs and threats, military coups, unrest in the South, Foreigners blamed for every downfall and pitfall the Country suffers and it goes on and on.

The Spanish thought the Brits would go to Spain forever and that they could do what they wished and treat the Brits like dirt, until one Summer they woke up and everyone had gone to the Greek Islands!

It can happen when you thoroughly piss people off enough!

Yes but at the Greek islands peak they had fewer tourists than Benidorm.

June is a traditionally low season month and bargain fares are often available. Prices tend to shoot up at the end of June when the Northern Hemisphere western scholl and traditional holiday season kicks in.

Who knows why Thai are full? Could be fewer flights, could be sold too cheap - maybe they have more seats hidden up their sleeve? Plenty of other good direct airlines to try - EVA are quite good. If you pop over to Amsterdam you can get flights with them for 652 euros economy or 852 Premium economy inc all taxes but only for a max of a month stay.

I just checked the Thai website for a month return from 9th June and its available at total price ┬г580/┬г2000 econ/Business. I also checked the 14th and they have seats available then also.

It could be wise to vary the timing. A few days can work wonders.

Sometimes are seats limited due to international conferences or trade fairs in Bangkok.

Apart from that, there are still plenty of seats at bargain prices available.
