Hi
Does anyone know of an airline which has a direct flight from Dubai to Bangkok & return, other than Emirates?

Cheers

it looks like Emirates is your only choice for a non-stop. Etihad connects is Abu Dhabi. Gulf Air also has connecting flights.

Only airline that has nonstop flights DXB-BKK other than Emirates is Thai Airways , many airlines on that route but all with one ore 2 stops.

If you see a Thai airways listed - Its a code share with Emirates.

I was looking at faires from Dubai to BKK, R/T for a friend.
I found non-stops on Thai and Emirates.
BUT
The faires for Economy are significantly different.

Thai 5,310 AED
Emirates 2,530 AED

Am I reading that incorrectly??

I can't vouch for whether it's a code share or not, but it is not unusual for the listed fares to be drastically different for two airlines on the exact same plane. It's likely that Thai gets a relatively small bucket of seats for a codeshare flight so their fares are higher after their cheap seats are gone.

You might want to take a look at tools like kayak.com or farecompare to see who flies the route.

DUBAI - BKK IS ALWAYS VERY BUSY SO BOOK ASAP. Emirates is fine for me.

Perhaps I should explain the problem.
I have 75,000 air miles with Emirates and thought it would be good to visit Thailand over Christmas and the New Year period.
Flying economy from UK to Thailand return is 75,000 air miles - so I would only have to pay the tax.

The problem is that DXB to BKK is very busy (as Boxer said) as the flight goes onto HK. So what Emirates do is make that leg 'peak' economy which costs in air miles almost double - 65,300 or to buy 3340AED (455GBP).
So at that price plus the taxes from UK to Dubai the 'free' flight turns out to be 'not so free' and a few pounds less than a normal booked flight.

Another airline from Dubai to Bangkok would be desirable.

I guess i misunderstood Rogered. He is saying the flight goes to BKK and continues to HKG??
So that is why it is so busy...

Anyway...
I am in the US, State of New Mexico.
Found I can get a RT flight from Houston to Dubai on Emirates.
Was thinking of taking my Pinoy friend who now lives in Dubai on to BKK.
So I have been looking at flights on that leg.

Thanks for all the info...

How does that work? NYC is the only US city serviced by Emirates. Are you flying a code-share partner from Houston to connect to the non-stop NYC to Dubai flight on Emirates?

Well, yes they do honey!

I have flown on Royal Brunei many times. They are well priced and also you have the option (from SYD) of a free night in Brunei - which is a small Islamic Kingdom.

There are also many tours available. The palaces here are SOMETHING ELSE.

It really is a fascinating place. Their money, as in Arab money is from OIL.

Families here hire UK, Swedish and Aussie nannies, not the other way around.

And just like their pals in the middle east - man sex is rampant.
