Exactly where in Thailand. And given that foreigners are not allowed to own land in Thailand in their own name, is it an advisable investment?

The intended area is Rayong. I am of course aware that a foreigner cannot purchase land.
I am in contact with lawers, I would like to have a second opinion on the recommondations and costs that I have, and if that lawer is recommended by some of you guys it might give me some extra confidence.
There are a few in depth questions, for instance concerning usufrucht or implications for leasing plots ect.
The project itself is not in a stage where we want to start any marketing activities.

hope that clearifies the question

thanks

Dear Krazydragon,

You should also inform the board, much as I agree with you as to his abilities, that Rachain only does Land and civil cases.

I don't agree that he is the only reliable lawyer, there are others, but they do take some finding!!!! The gentleman who writes for Pattaya Today, for example has a good name in the profession.

My lawyers, Khum Nipon and Khun Sanya, who has qualified as a judge have a very good respected name also.

I would like to endorse that Khun Rashain is an excellent lawyer and that he has also taken on work for me that is outside that of land and civil cases.

On a separate note, I hope that you are well kquill and wish you all the best in your new life in Kalasin. Although we have never met, you are someone that I respect and I hope I will get the chance to say Hi when I am in your area.

In Pattaya you have Khun Pico. He is a barrister and has an office on South Pattaya Road opposite CAT office. Company called Magna Carta. Does a lot of property and land deals. Problem is he is always busy so you may need to wait to see him.

I have used him for 4 years and not had any problems, and he speaks excellent English.

That just reinforces the point that there are good lawyers in Pattaya!! :wav:

thanks a lot for the information. some of the mentioned lawers have a homepage so I will contact them while I am still in europe.

Whatever is said about this board there is still the spirit of helpfulness in the air. And this project might interesting for gay people wanting to live in Thailand as well.

Kevin,
it is good to see you beeing online again, after leaving in "anger" sometime ago. I am also glad that you are back to live in terms of your suffering. I went many times to garasin where a friend of mine has a house, and I really like it there. I would be very nice to meet there to celebrate your 50th or 60th birthday.

JohnB, this is the second time you helpend me out. (angles lady :))

ciao for now
