Burmese workers deported for going to Pattaya for Songkran

Burmese workers with work permits allowing them to stay only in the Bangkok area were again arrested by the busload and are to be deported. This seems unneccessarily harsh. I know last year a bus load went to go to a temple in Pattaya and were caught by Police and deported. Seemingly they all had work permits for the Bangkok area and they can get permission to travel outside that area from Immigration. It seems that they may not have been aware of the conditions. Very sad at a time of celebration.

They'd all heard about the fun we're having in Jomtien during Songkran and couldn't wait to get wet!
