I am up to this point of time an anon donor to keep this board going

May I ask if the crap videos being posted are adding to the cost of running this board.

Are the people who are posting this juvenile shit also supporting this board with

cash

If not why not.

Paulg, if I'm not mistaken the YouTube avalanche lately (have no fear, it will die down) is nothing but folks posting links to YouTube videos. The cost of that I would think, is nothing.

So there you go, rest your fevered brain and take ElephantSpike's advice and just flutter over the YouTube videos without clicking. How easy is that?
Or, you can fly over to Baht-Stop (http://www.baht-stop.com) where the heaviness of Serious Issues is unrelenting, and having a bit of fun is a violation of the Guidelines.

Cheers ...

On Baht stop try disagreeing with Hedda.

Try Gaythailand (the replacement for Gaybutton) and read the same posts without the tubes.

Or even go to Ting and Tongs where everything and everything goes.
It claims to be uncensored.
However they say that tubes will be added so be quick :cheese:

I suppose that will be X-tubes only , right?

Exactly. They are streaming on youtubes bandwidth, not mine. We just open a little youtube window when we embed the videos.

What I'm going to be doing very soon is adding a way for users to add any kind of attachment to a post. That way you can upload photos and videos and soundfiles in various formats and they will be hosted right here on this domain and will appear in posts. When I do that, I'll need to set a storage quota per user. Regular free members will be able to upload a certain limited number of MB of data per year. Golden members, for $50 or so per year will be allowed a much higher quota. Regular members will still be able to link to remotely-hosted images and to embed video from youtube.

As far as making a separate forum for multimedia content, I don't see that ever happening. If the posting volume were to get to be something like 5-10 times more than what we've had, I might consider making sub-categories like "politics", "nightlife", "relationships", that kind of thing maybe, but most likely not. I don't see the point of separating different types of media content by forum under any circumstance.

One of my long term goals has been and still is to improve the functionality of the portal page. I'd like to have a block that would "pull" all of the videos, say from the forums and display them in a list, and maybe another block that could feature news articles or opinions.

Oh I didn't realise that being a donor gives one management rights? If so I have a little list and I'm sure they won't be missed.

If you think disagreeing with Hedda causes problems, try disagreeing with the Grand Ayatollah (and chief censor) (AKA Gaybutton) on Gay Thailand! You'll get much more grief there than you ever do on Bahtstop! :protest:
