What is it? Some kind of drug?

Yes, it turns up quite a lot. I have seen it suggested that it is a specifically Thai bit of net shorthand. The Thai for 5 being 'h├вh', it indicates ha-ha-ha-ha, i.e laughter, or the more usual western LOL.
