The farang grapevine is humming tonite in Pattaya/Jomtien. So much is happening so quickly I will just touch on the issues and
let others fill in the details as the facts become better known and clearer in the next day or two.

In Sunee Plaza, the sign people were busy changing the name of Banana to Krazy Pub but tonite the beer bar next to Krazy Dragon was shut down tight and the owner (or part owner) in some sort of detention for underage porno activities. There is a write up on him on one of the pattaya news websites and I am sure someone can provide the link.
K-Boys is closed for one month for issues stemming from the recent police raids.
Holiday Boys formerly Butts Boy is closed due to issues with its lease.
Euro Boys is closed for an indefinite time period but at least a few months for reasons of the new owner.

In Boyztown Pattayaland sois, police were very active tonite and it is reported on another site that those customers
lacking passports or equivalent IDs were taken by the police right out of the bar. This is the first time I have heard of the
police activities being aimed at the farangs including the Asian customers from Japan etc.
Bars were told to close early on other Pattayaland sois because of improper liquor licenses etc. and the pressure is on..
I cannot confirm the names of the bars involved as I only have scattered information from the other website and a couple
of telephone calls but I am sure others can fill in the info as it comes out..

These type of things tend to last for months and only a fool with go out with his passport or equivalent ID and take a boy without
an ID card for the time being.

We joined officers from the Women and Child Protection Unit, a division of Chonburi Provincial Police as they conducted a raid of a house in Soi Paniachang 8 in Central Pattaya on Thursday Morning. An arrest warrant had been issued for Mr. Peter Fritz Alfred Kuttner, aged 53 from Germany who is the owner of the Dragon Bar located in Soi Sunee Plaza, an area notorious for boy bars that will often employ underage male workers. The warrant states that the suspect is accused of taking pornographic movies of boys under the age of 15. Inside his house explicit pictures of young boys and other items including VCD movies were seized of evidence. This is not the first time Mr. Kuttner has been arrested in Pattaya. In July 2004 he was arrested and charged with sexually abusing two girls under the age of 15 and was also arrested for operating the Triple Bar in Soi Sunee Plaza without valid operating licenses. Mr. Kuttner was refused bail and has been transferred to German Embassy Officials in Bangkok who may take the option of prosecuting Mr. Kuttner in Germany.

This is the first time I have heard of the police activities being aimed at the farangs including the Asian customers from Japan etc.This is not the first time I've heard an ignorant Westerner refer to Asians as farang - "farangs including the Asian customers from Japan". A Thai would never make such a silly mistake. "farang" does not mean "foreigner" - it means "Caucasian" (what used to be called "European" until we realised that by referring to Americans as Europeans it was immensely demeaning to Europeans)

I was watching part of the raid in Boyztown. I was told they turned over Wild West Boys, and took away customers with no passports, but did not see that bit.

I saw them go through Panorama bar, checking Thais and Farang. Maybe 15 or more farang were told to go out of Panorama, and standing on the soi outside they seemed to get a good talking to ("dressing down" as the military say) before being allowed back inside the bar. Did not see anyone taken away.

Then they moved on to My Life, did not enter the bar but inspected the license. Much talking and gesticulating, and another one brought from Throb/Splash for comparision. Apparently the license was in the wrong style.

Then they moved into BBB, and I left.

A first hand report from a friend who was in Wild West was that the Police came in and checked with his friend who did not have a passport. He was told to carry a copy in future. His boyfriend's rucksack was searched. My friend was in the toilet when they arrived and he was not questioned. The Police spent some time at the far side of the bar but they could not see what was going on. About half a dozen people left and then the place returned to normal and the show was at 10.30 as usual.

I read the reports in the wee small hours and was concerned incase they had been carted off to jail. Its all very strange as this friend rang me yesterday afternoon to see if I had been in jail - a rumour seems to have started after the article from Lonely Planet Thorntree about "In the monkey house for no exit stamp".

So sorry you misread my statement about the farangs being asked for their passports. I know very well that Asians are
not called farangs and I meant in my posting that the farangs and the Asians but can see how nit pickers could go ape over the word
including , but you presume too much by slandering this poster as ignorant.

I have heard from several sources that the police were over at Yensaibai Condo in the Sunee Plaza area and actually
knocking on doors , asking to see passports. A friend who lives there did not have this happen but this story shows the
level of anxiety among gay farangs and gay Asians in Pattaya.
There was a line of farangs and Asians in my local photo store to have their passports copied and shrunk and laminated.
Some of them looked like heteros and I wonder if the lady bars are being visited by the police doing passport checks as well as
the boy bars. It was worth the wait and for 20B. I have my ID in case this police checking continues.

The invasion of the Russian speaking hetero couples and groups of white farang women continue in the boy bars. I heard a group of
at least 3 hetero couples were barred from entering Y 2 K boy bar. The bar was full earlier as it took on the remaining staff and boys
from the now closed K-Boys. I don't know if they were stopped because the bar was full or if the bar management understood that
a drunken unruly crowd of breeders would empty out his bar ..

Somehow there must be a connection between the murdered Russian women on the beach, the massively increased police raids and
police presence and the emergence of Russian speaking heteros swarming into the boy bars. Next, we will see silver haired old ladies in
golf carts puttering thru the sois of Sunee looking for underage boys for unimaginable reasons.. :cat:

What's everyone so "anxious" for? Sounds like there are a lot of guilty consciences out there to me.

the person is guilty as usual before appearing in court even though the last time the same gentleman never got to appear in court as charges were dropped.

Just to show how accurate some of the reporting can be ..Peter was said to be 53 in 2004 when he was arrested last time on a similar charge.

This would absolutely nothing to do with the new police chief in town and some who want to impress him.
