Looks like Thai Airways has decided to provide some incentives ...
for flight connections made in Bangkok...

Must be something to do with the "movement of Thai Air Domestic" flights ..
from the new airport to the old Don Muaang ???

Here is the link to discussion on flyertalk.com...

http://flyertalk.com/forum/showthread.php?t=666204 .

Thai Air calls it "Network Bonus Miles":

10-35% Bonus on All Flights Connecting in BKK
What a unique promotion!

From mid-April to mid-October, all international TG flights connecting in BKK
will receive 10% to 35% bonus miles.

Registration required, and starts on March 12.

"Residents of Thailand are NOT eligible".

Read the linked promo flyer from Thai Airways -
for more details - as posted by a flyer talk poster.

Elsewhere it was quoted from the Aussie TG web site that they recommend SIX HOURS between flights if you need to transit between Don Muang and Suvarnabhumi.

But, I see that "residents of Thailand are NOT eligible" for the compensation/bonus...?

Ask your travel agent for a Thai Airways Air pass. You can buy 5 flights for around 50 USD each. No need to fly in / out of Thailand with Thai Airways.

The Thai Airways Air Pass is a long established product but is not promoted by Thai Airways since they prefer to sell single tickets to higher prices.
