new members and spam

Just had a look at the last page of the members list

Of the the last 20 new members 15 have a www. link.

Usually it is 1 on each page of 50 at the most.

Run your cursor over the www and you get an idea of the spam addresses they are from

Not all have posted as yet. I would suggest they are deleted before they do

I get around 5 a day like this on my board. very few of them even make a spam post. Luckily i have some help so they get deleted quick even im alseep. Its really hard to stop them even with spam block software - they soon figure out a way round it.

Bob and I are in different time zones so most get caught within 4 - 5 hours.

I thought i remember hearing that new posters had to be validated by a mod before making their first posting, is that true?
