Does anyone know of any good hotels on the river under 2000baht/night? Want to try something different than the usual wall Street Inn.
Thanks

The Bossohotel is one half block from the Shangri-La. It's certainly not a five start hotel, but I've seen the rooms (never actually stayed there) and they are just fine. Well under 2,000 a night.

Check it out at: http://www.asiarooms.com/thailand/bangkok/bossotel.html

Under 2,200THB\night on the river! Can be done if you stay someplace else 1st couple nights, go to the area, walk around & look.

Different:

The Arun Hotel:

Stayed there on a 'honeymoon.' It's a bit more than 2,200 THB (More like 3,200 now.) but worth it.

Baan Thai Wellness Retreat Hotel:

Not riverside but quiet soi close to it. About 7,800 THB. Not a place I'd stay 1st night, after a long flight.

Price:

In Chinatown near the river.

There's a decent place called (I think) For You on Silom near Silom Village, about three blocks nearer the river from (former) Tower Inn.

I stayed at the Shangri-La and really loved the hotel.I the brekfast was great and you can get some good deals with breakfast included in the rate if you book online.I checked out a few sites and finally booked at resorthotel.net.I think it was pretty good rate.
