My friend Tony (Xen) from Vietnam just returned to Philadelphia after 4 weeks vacation in Vietnam visiting his mother. He told me about his trip there and how much fun he had. His story was not so different than some of the stories you would read here.
Tony is an attractive guy in his late 30's who has no trouble finding a partner for sex at anytime he desires and with that said I will tell you what he told me of his trip.
I asked him about Vietnam and he told me that it was not like Thailand. "It not like Thailand, if you want sex with guy it difficult to get because you not Asian, but if you have guide you get sex easy." He went on to explain that the gay life in Vietnam is not like the gay life in Thailand. I didn't ask him to explain more on that because I kinda understood what he was trying to say.

My friend waited for him to come back but he didn't and a woman came into the room telling him that the guy left and did not pay the $3 for the room. When he went to pay for the room he realized that his cell phone was stolen. Yes, the guy had stolen his cell phone... The next day he seen the guy at the sauna and he told the staff about the theft and they told him they could do nothing. He asked the guy where his phone was and he laughed in his face and walked away. He told me he had about $150 in his pockets but the guy only took his phone so he was lucky.
He asked me about prices in Thailand... How much to buy a soda at Babylon, How much to get into DJ station and the drink prices and when I told him he informed me that the prices I quoted were cheaper than the prices he was paying in Vietnam for much the same value in goods.
He plans to return to Vietnam to live and asked me to visit but warned me that the guys in Thailand are more handsome than the guys in Vietnam... On that he and I will simply have to disagree.
