When I was in Thailand I tried to take pictures of the rooms I rented as I made my way around the country.

Here are some pictures of the places I stayed and some info behind them.

These are Pictures of the room I had when I stayed at PJ's Place in Chiang Mai.
The room was one of the best I ever stayed in. I felt as if everything was new in the room.

When you stay at PJ's place, the owner picks you up at the airport and returns you there when you leave. That service is included in the room cost and I appreciated it a lot.

The place itself is in a secluded spot not too far from the main road and not too far from the House of Male. Once I found the House of male, I was able to make it there in 15 minutes on the return trip.

The Shower was nothing special but I did enjoy it and did not feel boxed-in or depressed due to dark colors or dim lights. The Bathroom is bright, roomy and of smart design. It was not elegant but it was modern, very clean and functionally stylish.

I woke-up late most days but as I made my way past the open doors of the main house where the office and dining area is located, the owners would greet me with a hello, a little conversation and the offer of the included breakfast. I declined but after I got a glimpse of the staff moving about in what I would call traditional Thai clothing, that is when I was not so sure I made the right choice. I still remember the chef standing back with his hands clasped before him, smiling and waiting to learn my answer.

The Bed at PJ's was very comfortable. It was firm but not hard and waking-up to the morning sun filtered through the curtains, bouncing off the shiny wood floor happens to be a one of my cherished moments.

The TV had a few English speaking stations and they offer Internet but you must use a cable to plug into their land-line based Internet system. Although I had purchased a new laptop for this trip it would not communicate with their Internet system. I also had trouble with the Babylon Internet system...

I enjoyed my stay at PJ's and would be more than happy to stay there again. Although I rented a room I felt more like I rented an apartment due to the private entrance I had at my room.

I highly recommend PJ's to anyone who has plans to visit Chiang Mai.

Looks lovely. Do you have pictures of the outside? You said you had a private entrance, which suggests that there was a garden?

Well, I tried to compose a post about this wonderful guesthouse but my message was sent to hell (it was several paragraphs and took me over 5 minutes to compose, so it is not as if I was posting that quickly). PJs is a great place to stay.

What a pain in the ass this forum continues to be to use.

Pete

PS-edited to say that this much shorter message went through just fine. I dunno.

Looks very nice, and the service sounds sweet. What was the cost?

Thats the VERY SAME room my BF and I stayed in back in mid-Nov!
The "cook" by the way was Peter - one of the owners. One attraction at breakfast was getting to meet and chat with the other guests. Since there are only 6 rooms there are usually no more than 8 people wandering in and out. Its friendly and cosy.
The garden area is small but nicely landscaped and has a small sitting area.
I really enjoyed my stay. Remember though, its a Guesthoue and not a full service hotel.

My only complaint (and its a niggling one) is it would have been nicer to be inside the moat in the old city.
