Going to Koh Lanta tomorrow, and then on to other islands in the area or Satun, if anyone has any experiences to share.
I haven't been to the area before, and my usual m.o. is to reasearch via internet, Lonely Planet etc first, but my BF has persuaded me to just suck it and see, as it were. He always teases me about the research, saying that we just end up sharing venues with Lonely Planetters rather than locals.
I guess that he would rather strike up a conversation on the ferry with the handsomest local about places to have fun and stay, which I know has some advantages.
