Has anyone been to or seen Bangkok's brand new Unico Grande Sathorn Boutique Hotel located at 59 Silom Soi 3, Silom Rd? Here's the AsiaRooms link: http://www.asiarooms.com/thailand/bangk ... tique.html (http://www.asiarooms.com/thailand/bangkok/unico_grande_sathorn_boutique.html) Would the location be conveniant to the boy bars? I'd appreciate your opinions. The prices seem great for a brand new luxury hotel.

From the asiarooms website, I don't think it is a "luxury hotel".

The Hotel description on website does not agree with the address shown. Silom is no where near Asoke area. There is something wrong here??? If the address is correct it is close to all the action in the Silom/Patpong/Surawong area.

Hmmmm, interesting observation. Here's another link with a different map. What do you think?

Yes, rather odd.

On the opening page the description blurb says this:

The Unico Grande Sathorn Boutique, Bangkok is a brand new boutique serviced residence. You can be sure that every day of your stay in your elite serviced home will be eased by professional management which is completely different from other larger serviced apartment. The hotel is situated in the business district of Asoke. It is a short stroll from Phetchaburi Subway Station and about 15 minutes walk from Asoke Skytrai Station. The Emporium and Central Chidlom Shopping Malls are a short train or taxi ride away.
Yet on the same web page gives the hotel address as this:

Address : 59 Silom Soi 3, Silom Rd., Bangkok 10500
Hotel Location : City Center
Area : Silom
Then on the location page, it reads thus:

The Unico Grande Sathorn Boutique is a prime location in the heart of BangkokтАЩs central business district, and within walking distance of commercial centers and the fast and efficient Bangkok Transit System (BTS). We can be accessed from both the Saladaeng and Chongnonsi stations and via the link to the Subway Train (MRT) at Silom Station.

I think just a question of someone mixing up their captions by mistake ... and someone else not noticing it. I wonder how long it will take them to catch it?
Bottom line though is that it looks like it is in fact a Silom area hotel, not an Asoke/Sukhumvit area hotel.

Cheers ....

Hey thanks. That was good information. After the hotel goes through its "shakedown" period, it might be a good place to stay!

Maybe after the shakedown period the rates will soar? I doubt it. I did a quick Google for a website but did not spot one. I see this site for apartments and there seem to be a lot in the 2000 to 3000 price bracket. That seems very attractive for many and, presumably, the dreaded joiner's fees would not apply.

I e-mailed Asia rooms about the wrong copy for the apartment.
