... as I can recall, departure tax remains at 500 baht until sometime next year.

Should be included in tickets at 700 baht after Feb 1st but dont hold your breath.

Just bought a ticket from Seoul to Bangkok....Was informed by Thai Airlines here, that 700 Baht is the departure tax fee in early December

This was the email from travel agent received Friday
"Dear Anakot,
Please be reminded to keep your HKG / Bangkok Boarding pass handy for
Immigration clearance at BKK airport. Also effective from 01NOV Bangkok
Airport Local departure tax has been increased to THB2500 equiv HKD500 per
person.
