A new airline will be launched tomorrow offering low-cost long-haul flights - I think this is a first and will hopefully start a trend or at least a price-war!
'Oasis Hong Kong' will offer flights between Hong Kong and London (Gatwick) for ┬г75 one-way making a return ticket, with tax, just ┬г261 and Business Class for ┬г470. Adding an AirAsia trip HKG-BKK could make for very cheap flights to LoS!
Oasis plan to add routes Berlin, Cologne and Milan, followed by San Fransisco and Chicago.
They boast a fleet of 747-400's "previously owned by Singapore Airlines" implying that they are not operating some old crates like Phuket Air tried to do! They also provide meals, booze and 14 channels of person-screen entertainment!
