I would advise anyone doing this now to get do one of two things:

1. Get a single entry O visa from your home country (usually easy) and make sure you depost the required money in a Thai bank account over 90 days BEFORE the date you apply for the EXTENSION.

2. Get a double entry O visa from your home country, giving you more time to wait for your money to be 90 days old. With this, you will have to make one visa run.
