Militant groups want to talk

The newly appointed commander of the Fourth Army Region, Lt-General Viroj Buacharoon, said yesterday he had received word from separatist groups who were keen to negotiate a peace deal.

Given the coup is such a good thing, Master Cedric, then it only logically follows that we ought to better the situation and do another! Got milk (hmmm......a tank would do better)?

Hell, if we had 4-5 coups by the end of next week, we'd be damn near Nirvana (which I think is an all nude gogo bar on Soi Prostitute).

Yeah, maybe military rule with no elections and no constitution is such a great thing that Thailand should keep it that way indefinitely (as they have in the past).
The success of this coup will be judged on how well and how quickly they can transition away from a military government.

There is no military government, it is an interim civilian government. And there is already a very loving interim constitution.

Constitution of the Kingdom of Thailand (Interim Edition) of B.E. 2549

Somdet Phra Paramintharamaha Bhumibol Adulyadej Sayammintharathirat Bormmanatthabophit graciously grants the interim constitution on October 1 B.E. 2549, which is the 61st year of the present reigh.

The interim mechanism is aimed to restore love and unity, the economy, the law and order, to create strong system to check and investigate corruption, to establish good ethical system, to promote and protect the rights and liberty of the people, to have the country respect the UN treaties and treaties and agreements with other countries, to promote the country's ties with international communities and to promote Thais to adopt the self-sufficiency economy.

Milk trucks can't get rid of a corrupt PM, but tanks can, so your comparison makes no sense at all.

My guess is the civilianry will get a little restless, then totally unprepared for "elections" they'll go.

Cedric, I hope it all works out. I really do.

And why not. As long as the Americans are not involved I am sure all will go swimmingly.

Whether the Thai coup "succeeds" or not has very little to do with what America does, either way. You are clearly one of those idiots who blame all of the world's evils on America.
