Taxes & Fees
(According to the NY Times)
"Another tax on airline tickets is in the offing next year for a few countries--But it's for a good cause."
France, Brazil, Britain, Chile & Norway plan to raise $300-million through an airline tax to buy drugs for children with AIDS, TB and malaria.
France has already begun charging about $5 for international coach tickets and $51 for first class.

Now on flights between the UK & US you can expect additional charges of:
$2.50 U.S. Sept 11th fee.
$4.50 U.S. passenger facility charge.
$14.50 U.S. International departure tax.
$24.23 (13┬г) U.K. passenger service charge.
$37.37 (20┬г) U.K. air passenger duty.
$14.50 U.S. international arrival tax.
$5.00 U.S. customs fee.
$7.00 U.S. immigration fee.
$5.00 U.S. Department of Agriculture inspection fee.
Plus a fuel surcharge. Using United Airlines, currently @ $130, that's a total of $244.50 added to the cost of a(Approximately, $500.00) coach ticket.
The "charity" (Charity at 'gun-point.') will round it off nicely (to 50%).
