I don't know. But the injury he's received is the equivalent of a stab wound (kitchen knife) to the chest and the knife is full of poisons and toxins. Even if it did miss his heart at such close range the toxins would have rapidly spread to his heart and stopped it from beating. If it did puncture his heart he would have bleed to death. And given that he was underwater when this happened he may have also begun drowning.

He didn't stand a chance.

Can't say I liked the bloke myself but I'm very sorry for his family, two young kids and all that.

It was a little unfortunate (and a perhaps humorous) when Fox news first reported it. They were showing clips of Steve Irwin, the crocodile hunter, appearing on Larry King earlier this year on CNN. Just as the newsreader was wrapping things up the pic' changed from the Larry King interview to one with Mr Irwin 'SAT ASTRIDE A CROCODILE', the newsreader stated (in typical news reader low voice) " ... and there is Mr Irwin on Larry King".

I guess you had to be there!
