The board needs a topic injection....

I am still wondering about the Myanmar scene. anyone brave enough to go? Twitter is loaded with spa s in Yangon and mandalay with hot looking men. telegram is loaded with porn and men advertising to spend the night.

Moses a blog from your 2 burma guides talking about the situation (leaving out sensitive material that might cause them problems would be a real bonus....

Yangon is safe within city border with arrival by air, the best is arrival with any Chinese or Russian airline - passengers of these airlines have quite less problem on the border. Besides Yangon, Bagan is possible to visit with trusted guide, but it is less safe and there are no balloon flights now.

Most photos are from the past, also you should understand what most spas are for local clientele. Most messengers are banned, but Telegram is working there since it has Russian roots, so if you'll find channel with current ads then it probably should work.

And one more time: don't even think to go outside of Yangon. Current govt is hunta, but their opponents are extremists from left and right wings, despite everything you may read in Western news about "fighting for freedom and democracy". My words are now not about politic, "keyword" is "extremists" and that means what kidnapping outside of Yangon with following black mailing is very possible - opposition needs money.

Brave enough yes, I would go under current circumstances*. However, next is summer in Germany, and when I come back to SEAsia in autumn, see what the situation in Myanmar is.

*The requirement for health insurance covering Covid was recently abolished, however evisa application form still asks for insurance number. Even if I get a visa from embassy without health insurance, immigration officer might ask for health insurance. Information from Myanmar travel groups on Facebook. That is just one inconvenience too much!
