There are some sleeping rough. That's a problem for the Thai government to deal with and I don't worry about what I can't control.
Like many tourists, I do contribute to employment here on a regular basis. Already today, one has received about the equivalent of a week's work on the minimum wage. Admittedly, the recipients are almost all migrant workers from Laos or Cambodia.

Oh, it is terrible here, spending all day outside in a seaside resort, while I could be sitting in a snow in Estonia, or more likely never leaving a house, except making beer runs to supermarket and straight home, sitting there alone, re watching old movies.

Now it's as much sex as I like, happy people all everywhere, just spent a week in Krabi, winter is passing in a breeze.

I sometimes whether MFS and I visit the same JC....I stay at The Agate and so walk through the Complex every day on a number of occasions- well, I did until Covid- and I'd characterise the JC guys, as anything but effeminate. Perhaps the ones he sees come out to play after I've gone to bed- which nowadays is pretty early ....but when I have my daily Singha there at 1800, the Cambodian guys are dominant, in every sense of the word.

Very different to the scene I used to witness from the Panorama terrace a few years back at the same time of the day.

He actually looks a lot, both in build and facial features like Lek who used to work in the bar in the corner of Boystown next door to Panorama that the Russians took over many a night ( sorry the name escapes me).

I actually wondered for a second WAS it Lek as knowing Thailand and the boy and their love of plastic surgery it wouldn't have surprised me if it was him and he'd just had some work done - but on closer inspection, especially of that snooker table shot :-) no, it wasn't him.

On the one hand we have the charming bar manager at Divarium, who brightens up the centre of Jomtien Complex and makes a positive contribution to the gay scene.

On the other, we have a miserable old troll who can't handle the idea that others are smart enough to enjoy themselves. Trying to spread misery won't work.

BT town is open but on a much smaller scale than before. There are no Gogo bars open like they used to be. You will find that Boyzboyzboyz only serves drinks on the terrace. No Gogo boys as such. Toyboys seems to be permanently closed as does Cupidol and A Bomb.

There are two other ex Gogo bars in an adjacent Soi, Dream Boys and X Boys. Occasionally you see signs of life. Nothing worth going there for.

So what’s left? The main Boyztown Soi only as far as Panorama. That’s it.

As indoor entertainment is still forbidden you have to sit and drink in the Soi or an open air bar. There is a nightly show (in the Soi) accompanied by very very very loud music. That’s when it’s time to move to Jomtien.

Jomtien has taken over as the Centre of Gay Life. Unfortunately no Gogo bars but many restaurants and bars. All open until 11 pm.

Even though gerefan2 is merely a tourist his assessment is accurate so it begs the question do you come to Pattaya knowing that Jomtien Complex is the only offering…..No GoGo bars……Customers average 60+ years old……the majority of the “boys” are fem twinks?
If my description is not your cup of tea I’de wait till some degree of normalcy returns and set my sights on Bangkok.

Jomtien is stuffed full of cute lads. That's where I'll go, until someone identifies a better destination.

I spotted a few boys in Jomtien who are worth a drink and a chat and maybe more, even without seeing them on a stage in underwear (which would be my preferred way).

Firstly remember that a lot of working boys might only be on line on the apps for a couple of hours per day, or less. Some don't even visit every day.

Secondly, how you observe the trade in Pattaya matters. If you're in Pattaya, no problem. If you use something like the Grindr "Travel" feature from overseas, bear in mind that users can switch off the ability of people to view their profile with this. Some of the money boys do that, presumably due to all the spam messages that Grindr do nothing about. [It's the number one customer complaint and their management are full of excuses, rather than noting that every other app has mostly fixed the spam issue]

Thirdly, the definition of who is online seems to differ from app to app. With Grindr, people can very quickly be switched to offline.
