And what actually is an "obsession with sex" ???...is it something akin to the feverish newspapers reports worldwide that print stories about sex non-stop ? ( like John Burdett's piece in the NYT ?)

Knowing what I do now, I would be shocked if he is guilty, but I wouldn't be shocked if he is charged. Of course, if they have DNA evidence (doubtful), no shock.
This guy is clearly a very sick puppy, but based on his history, he has never once been charged with any sex crime except for porn on his computer. He looks and acts like a predatory pederast, but he might be a case of one who just fanatasizes about it, and that is not a crime.
