The short video linked below really does a great job explaining "Vaccines" and what we should know about all the numbers we keep seeing.

At least I found it helpful:

A day after I received the Pfizer vaccine I felt as if I had a hangover! It could have been due to jet lag, too much wine or the vaccine or all thee combined. Friends reported similar reactions.

Vaccination has been a bit of a distraction in this pandemic. Despite being one the world leaders in vaccine rollout, the sero-prevalence data for the UK suggests that more people got their first antibodies from the live virus than from the vaccine.

Although one can't be 100% certain, it seems likely that most people gained antibodies from a viral load that was too small to provoke an infection but enough to provoke an immune response.

I've not seen any sero-prevalence survey data for Thailand, but it is quite possible that it vastly exceeds the number vaccinated by now.

Some interesting "Myths versus Facts" about the Vaccine.

Safety and efficacy of vaccines. Published by Astrazeneca.

1 Please could you supply a link to the publication attributed to Astra Zeneca ? I'm very surprised about them publishing such crude data, without adjustment. For example, even with the same vaccine, the death rate would be much higher in countries that prioritize older people for vaccination. So a simple comparison tells us nothing without adjustment for age etc.

2 Just as a plausibility filter, the annual death rate per million people is around 13 in Russia (for example), under normal circumstances without covid. So if the 1 million doses of Sputnik were administered to 500,000 people, we might expect 6.5 to die in a year, even with no contribution from covid or the vaccine side effects.
To only have 2 deaths per million doses is odd. Possible causes might include fiddling the data, injecting a younger and healthier population or measuring over a period of time much shorter than a year. Well, we know the last one is likely to be true. How many other factors contribute to that low number is another question.
