It was bound to happen, whatever those in power said. A visitor from outside Japan who is involved in organising the Games and is staying in the Olympic Village has tested positive for Covid19. With some athletes having already arrived in Tokyo, how will the Olympic Committee handle this latest test?

Hardly a surprise.

Japanese officials run around like chickens with their heads cut off, not knowing what to do and too scared to make any decisions in case they are wrong and they lose face.

These games could be over before they even start. And if they do manage to kick off, chances are they may not make it to the end.

I wouldn't bet on it, that's for sure.

I imagine tens of thousands of athletes are heading to Tokyo for the Olympics. Having a few covid cases is probably expected.
Since Japan already has covid, I guess all they have to watch out for is introducing different variants.

They should dissolve The Olympics. Strangely shaped people drugged up to the eyeballs performing activities that no one has any interest in.

Quite right no one has much interest.

I live near London and a friend had an empty house (parents just died) and it was only 3 miles of the London Olympics.

His master plan was to rent it out for the duration of the games.

Could he get it rented out to any spectators? No way. Later looking at the TV many, many seats were empty.

Same every time!

On the subject of the Olympics, I was traveling through Narita Airport in Japan on 18 July and there were hundreds of young, athletic men and women sitting on chairs waiting to be processed in the corridor for international arrivals. Luckily it did not affect me or other passengers on our way to connecting flights. Quite a sight!

I assume they were all wearing a face mask? Fully dressed and face mask would be of little to no interest to me. Nice body without face is okay, nice face with body fully dressed is okay.

I don't truly recall if they were masked or not.
