Anyone tried that 50 baht American breakfeast here? I'll be staying around the corner at the Mosaik apartments.

How does Paradise Inn Hotel compare? (It is certainly close enough...)

I know what Paradise Inn is like, because I have stayed there several times. But I know nothing of the other places mentioned in this thread. Which is the better value?

"What is it? Egg and toasts?"....From the Menu; two eggs choice of bacon, ham or sausage, fruit juice, toast, coffee or tea. 50 baht.

Thai bacon. Yes - that scrawny over-cooked piece that appears on the plate at breakfast time and is about a half to a third the size of a rasher of bacon when I breakfast in America (or England). At least it's better than Malaysia where "bacon" (except in a Chinese establishment) means "beef bacon", just as "ham" means "turkey ham"

Thai sausage. It's never as tasty as the Thai sausage you picked up in a bar last night <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/images/emoticons/roll.gif ALT=":rollin"> and is usually chicken sausage

I'm not saying don't ask for American breakfast (also in some places called Continental breakfast). Just lower your expectations

There is indeed a lot of useful info here but for those of use that don't want the thought of someone in Sunee/Day Night area watching our every move, are there room and/or suite rentals in the Jontiem area that have private entrances?

Word recently heard this week on the street around Day-Night/Flamingo Hotel Soi area:

Fongsabu Family (Thai owner is Papa Manop) Restaurant and Apartments has SOLD his family's two shophouses which contain the restaurant and apartments.
The restaurant is already closed...and no word about the apartments (though a light was seen on last night in one of the apartment rooms)....nor any info about the new owner...

Anyone know what is happening? The restaurant and apartments were recenty opened...and now SOLD!

http://www.freewebs.com/fongsabu/appartments.htm .

I will miss the welcomed greetings of Papa Manop (Fongsabu); his smiling wife; and their very good and reasonable Thai foods menu.

One place, of many, that you don't want to stay at (unless you enjoy being cheated) is:

Lets call it "Day/Evening 2" so we don't open ourselves up for problems. It is that 9 or 10 story apartment across from Sundance Karaoke down the Soi from Tuk.com.

They are all so happy and smiling when you sign up for 3 months, but then after the first month you are surprised at all the extra charges...

Extra 200 baht charge for a TV

Extra 200 baht charge for the Fridge.

Minimum 200 baht for water....you only use about 50 baht worth

They tell you they will service the room a couple times a week....but forget to do it.

The cafe downstairs (open 24 hours) is also a place to be careful in. The owner doesn't give a hoot if you are happy with the food or service. He is just another typical farang business owner who doesn't give a $hit about repeat customers and hopes to "make it" by the tourists who come here for a few weeks and not the guys who live here.

Just like the baht bus situation.....it's only a few baht, but the principal of them thinking nothing of cheating us and laughing about it behind your back that annoys me.

Lets hope all these arrogant, pompous ass owners of ALL businesses in Pattaya lose their shirts and have to return to whatever hole they crawled out of.

Am I angry? Not at all. I just don't like crooks and thiefs.

Oh and I saw a couple of cuties standing outside that Sundance Karaoke place last week. :flower:
