I thought that this might have appeared previously, but I can't see it so plunging in.
Anyone who read and enjoyed Ocean Vuong's "on earth we're briefly gorgeous" last year will surely enjoy Memorial by Bryan Washington.
The subject of both are gay asian men and their relationships with their families both in asia and in the states. Both are first novels and thoroughly engaging. Spoiler alert, although there is sex in both books neither are pornographic, if that's what you are looking for!
