If Grindr really shares GPS location and sexual orientation then right step for users is to run from Grindr - there are a lot of apps now. I uninstalled Grindr 2 years ago - too much advertising, not too much service.

As for Grindr: after such movements on the place of Grinder I will ban all Norwegians and point to their govt - "want to use Grindr? - use VPN then".

Last year, Blued sent out an e-mail saying it would shut the accounts of all EU and UK users. My account was closed and I was unable to open a new one before returning to Thailand. Not a great problem, since Myanmar is the only place where I "need" Blued.

However, I very much suspect GDPR has something to do with that.

Whereas Grindr just waited for the fine.

I don't quite know where the problem arises, since my main requirements are:
1 Supply no more ID info than one of my second tier e-mails (satisfied)
2 Have an ability to delete my account at any time (satisfied)
3 As many members prove, the photos, date of birth, age, weight and anything else can be pure fiction.

If membership is by consent and can be terminated, what possible objection could the EU have ? In that respect, Grindr is one better than the EU, since EU membership is not by consent at a personal level.

Imagine the fuss if we had to have a referendum on national membership of Grindr ? Thankfully it's only a matter of personal choice.

Grindr has an option where you can choose to show your distance or not. So I don't see what is wrong with that.

I once had someone with profile age 20 contact me in my large village in the UK. Wanted to offer a BJ for money. Then declared he was 17, when I asked, just 3 months short of 18. (Age of consent is 18 when money is involved)
I'd heard precisely the same b.s. story over a year earlier, with no change to the alleged age.
Anyhow, with the use of fake GPS to move my location, I managed to work out which house this nutter lived in.

He's one of the reasons why I always log out of my local UK account and log onto a completely separate account when travelling. The same with Hornet
