* I just hope the Christian ( rarely) right brigade here in Northern Ireland ( or the US) don't see this as they'll swear it's gods rath and vengeance for gays "being gay" !

Not just the social distancing question.

I wonder how many that boat was licenced to carry. If it was licenced at all.

It doesnt look that big for 60 people plus crew.

They obviously were taking lessons from the Thai boat operators !

Thankfully it seems that it happened in flat calm water and good weather conditions, although that would beg the question how did they even manage to sink it in the first place mind!

At least it happened in day light and there seemed to be plenty of rescue boats on scene, meaning hopefully everyone escaped with their lives - this time - or until the next time on those types of booze cruises where some poor bugger just might not be so lucky :-(

Yes they were very lucky, that could easily have been a tragedy especially if there was booze or other party drugs involved.

That's really got to screw with your emotions... "!wow, I almost died by drowning in the ocean when that boat sank! I'm so happy to be alive, and have a new found appreciation for life. I'll never waste time again, and will use every minute to the fullest here on in!".

A few days later.... "ahhh, shit... I have KoVid due to that damn party boat"

Absolutely, in fact if you watch one of the videos there's a guy swimming ( barely) towards one of the rescue boats and his head in barely above the water through the hole in his lifejacket. As a sailor I can say quite confidently that this is probably as a result of his lifejackets either not having or him not using a "crotch strap" ( no latin not THAT kind of strap). He's a lucky man as IF there had of been ANY sort of swell at all that guy might not have made it home that day, either from simply drowning or in fact more likely from secondary drowning, which strangely enough is actually more common and more deadly than "actual" drowning it seems. ( although I imagine that ACTUAL drowning could I suppose be considered quite deadly in itself too of course !

I never even heard of this before, I just now looked it up! Well we really do learn something new everyday. Thanks

Looks like the cruise wasn't much fun in any case. Everybody is still wearing clothes!
