In the informal sense Thailand has never closed. Thailand's borders are porous; I'm aware of the odd Cambodian boy suddenly "reappearing" in Bangkok. The Burmese border seems particularly "open", and today's story from Chiang Mai highlights its danger, where a Thai woman returned to Thailand from Myanmar and has now proved to have COVID-10

Not good news as I will be spending next weekend in Chiang Mai as there is fuck all happening in Pattaya.

See that's the trouble with living there MFAS - you cant even get away with the standard bullshit excuse of "I'm going for the Temples and the food" that we all use when asked why we're going whoring in Thailand :) I guess "the waters' will have to suffice. You could always go the "cooler mountain air and reduced temperature" thing when talking about Chang Nai but I'm not sure you'd get much mileage out of THAT excuse either in DECEMBER ! :)

That’s why Chiang Mai is said to be in the Golden Triangle, right?
