I remember years ago flicking through the pages of similar books at Les Mots à La Bouche, a huge gay bookstore in the Marais district of Paris.

It was a bit of a revelation then to see photos of guys hugging and kissing (and more!) so long ago. They must have been very brave to allow their photo to be taken, given the time in which they lived.

..love the fact that not that long ago soldiers would trawl the public parks in England earning extra cash...or the telegraph boys scandal...and here we thought we had invented gay sex...
