I'm not so sure, from looking at clips and pics of Sinlapin Issan and Dragon on FB it seems like they are not exactly bereft of customers. Seems there are quiet a few gay guys whose lifestyle has not change, perhaps due to a monthly overseas stipend

Nashaa Club is a big Indian dance club, so seems, like they have given up on an immediate return of Indian customers and are diversifying

Fingers-crossed Waling Street (as we all know it) will prevail...but investing in a new business there now...especially when there are no tourists, hinges on insanity.

The Facebook pics look promising. It looks like a similar set up to gay clubs such as Fake club. It could do well if the customer base is Thai, maybe it might pick up some of the ex Nab crowd as well as Bangkok weekenders. On a positive note it might even bring some diversity to Walking Street.

Insanity/desperation or perhaps just targeting a specific custom base already in Pattaya. It might seem insane, but as Colmx says, venues attracting local Thais/gay Thais still have decent footfall. Add in Fri/Sat influx of Bkk folks (the reason BzBzBz are only open those nights for now) and your venue, if favoured, could do ok.

As for Walking St, many gay lads for some time now have preferred a night there rather than the old established NAB etc . We've been going to Walking St ahead of NAB etc for about 4 years. Pre-Covid the attraction of Walking St was a few venues in close proximity. The Pier, Insomnia, Lucifer etc all very popular with gay lads, add in Stones House and ZAB for the Issan lads and Walking St could be a varied evening. That still stands during covid I would imagine for the clubs which remain open.

In recent years the late night choice for the guys we know in Pattaya was either Walking St or Sinlapin Issan as the main go-to places, with only occasional trips to the outliners TamNanIssan/TamNanChon/NAB when it was open. While the gay crowd can be very fickle Walking St has remained a popular area. Also the days of clubs only being full of bar boys paid for by westerners are long gone. The boys fill the places with or without evening sponsors, so tourists not essential for some venues. They are quite happy to share the cost between themselves. The main difference being 285 Vs Red/Black.

Opening any gay-targeted venue in Pattaya I would be more concerned about the fickle nature of gay Pattaya clientele who can pack out places one month and desert them the next to the extent they have to close, Have seen so many over the years. But like you Dodger am keeping fingers crossed Walking St will prevail.

G.A.Y was a gay bar in Walking Street that did ok for a year or two. 3 offs from there and all were lovely..

I like the name of the gay bar on Walking Street that Arsenal mentions in his post named "G.A.Y Bar" The owner just comes straight out and tells you he's an idiot. Then there's the new "Do-Do Bar" in Jomtien Complex. Another genius...possibly the previous owner of "My-Mic" in Sunee.

I went there a couple of times and it seemed to cater maimly for Russians, especially women who liked to "dance" on the tiny stage with the guys.

I think it was owned by Wildwest bar and some of their gogo boys worked there after hours.

There was a short lived bar opened by (serial bar opener) Beam in Jomtien called G.A.Y. it was a 2 shophouse unit next door to Home Bar and across from Dodo bar.
G.A.Y is a well known London Gay franchise which had 3 simultaneous venues going in the Soho area in its heyday.

Quite co-incidentally I bumped into Beam in G.A.Y a number of years ago when we were both visiting London, so I presume this is where he go the idea for the name

I have seen some clips on FB and it looks pretty good. NAB sized with an upstairs level
Seem to have a similar model to previous clubs with the twinky size coyote dancers and hunky "models"
I saw the ex-bosses of both NAB and G-star in some of the publicity pics, so seems that they are amongst the partners?

I was at Silipin Esarn club the same night Let Stud opened and Silipin club was nearly full so there are plenty of local customers about to support the clubs. Karaoke Bars were also busy from videos I saw on Facebook.

I walked on Walking Street tonight just for a change of pace. Very few people on the street except for staff from the open bars.
I didn’t see Le Stud and decided to walk up one of the side sois and there it was. Continuing up the same soi leads to VC hotel.
There were about 6 lads outside and a large rainbow flag. It was getting late and I decided to check it out another night.
I was in Boyztown earlier this evening and Boyzboyzboyz was very busy as well as Castro and Panorama. Lots of people out.
This only happens on the weekends. I also stopped at Xboys which was having a show but the best part is the opening act and it
was already over. I gave Dream Boys a look as well as a Thai yai boy I knew came out and escorted me inside. No customers
but quite a few lads in their undershorts. I didn’t stay as I wanted to go to walking street and it was getting late.
Now more cars and motor bikes than people walking on Walking Street.

When I last visited Walking Street in February there were numerous premises in streets adjacent to WS, all closed.

Back on topic,LeStud, I did speak with a waiter at a Sunee Bar who had visited Le Stud and gave me a brief synopsis. However my mind and member were focused elsewhere and I cannot recall just what he said. Next time I will try to concentrate on his presentation. He did say there was some sort of show, maybe a cabaret?

My Le Stud source, a waiter in Sunee, was there again last night.
Yes there is a cabaret show featuring many lovely ladies (ladyboys).
And it is a disco continuing into the early morning hours.
Most customers order a setup and drink at a stand up table, typical of other similar venues.

Friends were at Le Stud recently at 400am. Silipin Esarn closes around 330am depending on the attendance numbers. Many Karaoke bars are open all night. Jomtiem Complex bars mostly close at midnight but some are open later if they take the check bins and most of the tables inside and also turn the lighting and music down.

Finally, after an invitation from a generous friend, PM, I did enter into the bowels of Le Stud last night.
We first had a perilous motorbike ride down Walking Street which was filled with walkers who were oblivious to any motorbikes or autos. Soi 16, where Stud is located, is clearly marked so easy enough to find.
Arriving at 10:45 pm, Stud was about 40% capacity filling to 70% after midnight and mostly all Thai males.
Oh, I forgot to say, that we were joined by 15 or so Thai guys from Diamond and Winner Bars (Sunee Plaza) after midnight, as guests of my generous friend!

Setups were about 1500 Baht for bottle of Red Label plus coke, soda, etc and ice.

The arrangement in Stud is much like other late night gathering; a central, circular stage surrounded by small tables/chairs. Two basic type shows, one featuring muscular type (not twink) guys in various forms of dress and undress who would parade about the stage. One could offer them a shot (of alcohol) and they may come sit with you during a break. Then there was the cabaret show with scantily clad ladyboys (?) with rather large breasts doing their thing. For me, I most enjoyed the cucumber eating contest whereby three of the male models laid on the floor with a cucumber strategically placed between their legs and three volunteers (twink types) would go down on the cuke and eat it. First one to devour the cuke was the winner. My generous friend, thought that they were actual cocks until he saw a bite being taken out of the cuke.


Curiously, the best dancer of the night was my date from Diamond Bar who even got up on the stage and danced.
Not sure what happened after I departed and more whisky was consumed!

Generous friend and I departed at 1:30 am and left the boys to themselves and the whisky.

Over 95 % of the customers were Thai with a few sprinkling of older farang but all were welcome.

Oh, and it is very loud, so best to bring ear plugs. I had two but lost one, but the remaining one did a good job.

Motorbike taxis were available to take customers home. On the return trip, we went on Soi 16, rather than
Walking Street, which comes out at VC Hotel, a much quicker and easier ride.
