Oh well, so here’s a surprise that no one EVER expected to happen eventually ( much!!! )

I wonder what bullshit excuse the authorities have finally come up with to enable them to do that and what that “reason” cost the family in the end ( not that they’ll miss it of course).

“Charges dropped against Red Bull heir Vorayuth Yoovidhaya over the 2012 hit-and-run killing of a police officer......”

When he returns to Thailand do you think he will have to become a monk for awhile, or does the family just have enough money to skip contrition entirely?

I’m guessing like everything they’ll just pay someone else to do their bidding Re that too.

Before we get too carried away on TIT. In the UK we've had a serial rapist who got away with it for decades due to his connections in the police force. In the USA Michael Jackson, Ghislaine Maxwell, Cristiano Ronaldo and many others have paid to make serious criminal charges disappear. In Germany Bernie Ecclestone paid 60 million to avoid a long spell in a German prison.

Working for the BBC or being part of the House of Windsor also seem to reduce the probability of being prosecuted.

Of course, many rape allegations are just that and I certainly don't think society should be in the situation where people can be convicted on the basis of some false claims by some deluded female, without evidence.
Whereas the death of a policeman is for real.

Now they are investigating WHY the charges were dropped. duh!

Whats the betting the argument will be made that after all the media exposure ( that he caused by hiding) over the years his legal team convinced the court / Government that it would be impossible for him to get a fair trial so the case would have to be dropped......when of course the REAL answer is no doubt exactly as Dab69 has suggested above.

WOW THE PLOT THICKENS!

BANGKOK (AP) — Police in Thailand said Thursday that a witness whose testimony was important in having hit-and-run charges dropped against a heir to the Red Bull energy drink fortune has died in a traffic accident.

The accident in the northern province of Chiang Mai occurred late Wednesday night, just days after police made the surprise announcement that the last remaining criminal charge had been dropped against Vorayuth Yoovidhya, whose family owns about half of the Red Bull empire and is one of the richest in Thailand.

The announcement stirred outrage, and although there is no evidence that the witness’s death was suspicious, it is certain to intensify interest in the case.

It is shocking to think that a witness to a major crime/crimes could perhaps have been the victim of foul play.

One simply cannot imagine that in the west an individual who had the dirt on rich and powerful figures would not be kept safe to reveal all he knows. What say you Mr Epstein.

to reveal all he knows..

He OR SHE, you could take your pick really, you'd just have to direct your questions to a different postal address, perhaps B......ham Palace.

Thailand calls for new probe in Red Bull heir hit-and-run case

In a press conference on Tuesday, the Attorney General's Office said new evidence meant that the case could be reopened.

It said the speed of the Ferrari at the time of the accident had previously been put at 80km/h (50 mph), but an expert opinion not included in the police report had determined that the speed was closer to 170km/h.

"This is new evidence according to the law," said a spokesman for the office.

Mr Vorayuth could also face a new charge relating to drug use. Blood tests following the accident showed traces of cocaine in his system, but prosecutors say he was not charged at the time because of a possible false positive from medication he had allegedly taken.

A Thai court issued a new arrest warrant on Tuesday for an heir to the Red Bull energy drink fortune, a month after news of the dropping of a long-standing charge against him caused widespread anger.

Assistant National Police Chief Lt. Gen. Jaruwat Waisay confirmed that Vorayuth Yoovidhya, commonly known by the nickname “Boss,” faces charges of causing death by negligent driving and use of a narcotic substance.

“This was the recommendation by the police committee investigating the case," he said by phone. "We are confident that we can move forward on this, otherwise this decision would not have been made.”

you would love to know the TRUE story behind all of this and who's protecting who and at what cost / profit plus who they've had to get sidelined/ demoted / promoted all the way along the line to keep the wheel turning as it has all this time. You can only imagine there must be one hell of a political power struggle going on between various individuals, government departments and even the actual Government ministers and maybe even further up other lines even for this case to have taken the many twists and turns that it has over the years. It would make one hell of a Hollywood block buster movie - not that the ACTUAL truth will ever come out to the Thai people or the likes of us mere mortals of course !
