Has anyone else stumbled across this site? http://www.thailand4retirement.com/

Gave the site a quick review. There's really not much new information there that I could see. It certainly raised a lot of questions and encourages readers (in "get advice" link) to go to pay site. What troubled me about the site was lack of information about the site's sponsor or other credible links.

The site seems all about selling the consulting services.
For those interested in a more general site about Americans retiring abroad, including Thailand, check out:

I'd have to agree that there's no information about who's behind it. (Perhaps we can get Miss Marple to find out). However it did seem to have information all in one place, and clearly presented, that otherwise you'd have to hunt down through searching a number of sites if you were a novice retiree. The information about the UBC-True mobile tie-up and bonus minutes was certainly news to me

Apparently.

Having recently completed an estate planning process, I can attest to its critical importance. It forces you to think about (and decide) health issues in addition to financial matters.

Although I'm not living in the LOS, I'm told by those who are that finding qualified professionals (particularly lawyers) can be a problem. I'd imagine that a CPA would have a leg up on separating the wheat from the chafe in that area.

The advice about whether to buy or rent is equally important although I think I'd certainly be inclined to rent, at least for the first year.

Let's hope that he at least knows how to spell chaff. You certainly can't.

The site is newly registered and the information is poor and incomplete.

I did a ''who is?'' search and not much info as I believe the registration is made through the hosting company.

For what its worth here it is:

Come clean, Col Homintern: is this your site?

Come clean, Col Homintern: is this your site?I've decided to spend my declining years changing the habit of a lifetime by trying to suffer fools gladly and advise them (ie. people who couldn't organise their way out of a wet paper bag) how to move to Thailand, in the process becoming a CPA, whatever that is? Is that your question?

Homitern ??
are you eligable for a bus pass ?

Aunty
