I spotted a post earlier on FB regarding a Jomtien Complex Covid-19 food drive

It seems that Sun from Sunbar, the owners of QM2 and a few other business owners along with sponsors have started a food drive to feed the 100s of unemployed Barboys, Massage boys and affiliated businesses in Jomtien complex:
https://www.facebook.com/AsianNeedHelpThailand/

I have no affiliation or connection with the above cause, but thought that it was worthy of some publicity here on the boards

There is also a donation link if anyone wants to donate:

What are these bar boys still doing in Pattaya? There is nothing for them here now or in the foreseeable future why don’t they go home?
With social distancing is it a good idea to gather in such close proximity?
Instead of food give them bus tickets!

Congratulations on your April 1st (April Fool's) posting. Do you know what a lockdown /shelter in place order means. That means no traveling, no going home and bringing the virus to their home villages.

Tried two different Visa cards to donate- would not accept them from USA.
They need donations for a long time to help boys- good cause!

Can anybody verify that this is a safe address to which to send some money for food relief? Given the number of scams circling around COVID-19, I would like to be assured that money sent to that AOL address would in fact be spent on food relief for Jomtien Complex workers who now find themselves without work. Sorry 'dab69' I don't mean to question your post but we do need some assurance in these crazy times. Hugs.

I wanted to help this cause and got the e mail address of the bar I wanted to support from facebook, e mailed them, they send me details of where to send the money. It seems that the best/cheapest way to send them is through Western Union.

The address is the owner of the Sun Sun Bar where the free food is given away.
No one can track your money for you as described but food is being given away for free.
Sometimes you have to trust.

you could ask here in Thai

or see my name in the list of contributors that match my initials above for $100 (87 L)

Have I ever been to the bar in question: no
I saw a crying need for a good cause and an opportunity to donate.

I was at the Jomtien Complex during the food giveaway yesterday. Both Cocka2 Bar and 4T Bar were giving out food parcels. Some long queues.
Its a great initiative with many of the bars taking part in rotation.
The Jomtien Complex really has a heart. Well worth supporting.

Happy to hear this. The same scene is being repeated all over Thailand and everyone in the queue is given something regardless of faith or nationality (yes, including some pretty down-and-out farang). God bless them all.

I saw pictures on facebook and one of the the boys working in preparing/distributing food is one of my regulars, so I sent him some money online and left it up to him how to use it. But I would be hesitant to send money to people or organizations I don't know.

I agree Christian. So I send my donation direct to Zak from @Home Bar, who give out free meals and water two days a week in the Complex.

Good for you!

Now is the time for us to "take care them" if we can.
