Thais don't "do" confrontation. Thais do care about keeping or losing face. Naive Westerners have mistaken the lack of confrontation about being gay as some sort of acceptance, perhaps encouraged by hearing that a former dictator Prem Tinseltoes could often be heard singing "All the nice boys love a soldier" in the shower

They will therefore be horrified to read that
Chairwoman of the House Committee on the Affairs of Children, Youth, Women, the Elderly, the Handicapped, Ethnic Minority Groups and Trans genders has offered an apology today (Thursday) for an incident, involving two gay men seen kissing at a media conference in parliament yesterdayThe story goes on
The conference was being held by Future Forward MPs to highlight a proposal to amend Thailand’s laws on marriage.

Pheu Thai MP of Khon Kaen province, Mukda Pongsombat, admitted to the media that the incident was inappropriate and unexpected, and that she had already informed House Speaker Chuan Leekpai about the matter.

She claimed that she could not sleep last night because of the incident and, although a symbolic sign of sexual equality which could take place anywhere, it should not have happened in parliament.

And an investigation will be started. asap.
It came all unexpected, as otherwise they would have been informed before that a less confrontational (or so, forgot the wording) act would have been more appropriate.
Probably will depend on how rich and well known their families are as to what extent this will lead to consequence-if any.
Also I assume that there might even be countries where such an act would have led to immediate and eternal banning from the holy premisis of the national gathering of the delegates of the PEOPLE-whereas tipical such countries are clear dictatorships.
