... seems to be washed in horrific hatred and blood on a scale I cannot remember.

Yesterday the massacre happened in a Walmart Store in El Paso Texas . The 20+ folks murdered by a 21 year old white supremacist. As well 24 injured ... thus almost for certain the 20 dead statistic will go higher in the next few days or weeks.

https://www.ctvnews.ca/world/20-dead-26-wounded-in-el-paso-texas-shooting-1.4535728

Just 13 hours later 9 folks shot down dead in Dayton, Ohio, with the injured being 16 which also will probably drive the number 9 up.

The USA seems to be losing it's mind on a grand scale. One can't but think that a vicious and horrible blanket has been tossed over the country and even a smidgen of human decency is being snuffed out.

oh relax smiles...every day 40 people are murdered in Cape Town, South Africa alone, thats only one city. To me the tragedy would to be actually caught shopping in a walmart and then have my picture flashed all over the TV NETWORKS, imagine my social embarrassment.

It’s just the American Way of Death, Smiles. And remember there’s an awful lot of people now praying for the survivors and the victims’ families. On Twitter #thoughtsandprayers is trending. Somehow the thought “bolting the stable door after the horse has bolted” springs to mind in relation to those prayers but there you are

Americans are foolishly waiting for rapture to happen at anytime now.

Many appear to believe that the Messiah has finally come.

He's set himself up in the White House.

Perhaps people should redirect their prayers to him.

But wait! Wasn't it his party which reversed the ban on the ak47?

On the other hand, 100 people per day ( 36,000/year) die in auto accidents in the USA and no one seems to care.Your defining word is "accidents". Any normal person understands the concept that there are reasonable and statistical odds of driving on roads and having an accident of some kind.
But I doubt that behind 'any accident' lives a 21 year old Nazi with an assault machine gun in a Walmart Store planning to finish you off.
Your comparison is more NRA pablum than reasonable analogy.

Both shooters from last weekend were more left-wing than otherwise. One sounds like a died-in-the-wool Bernie Sanders/Elizabeth Warren supporter. The other was obsessed with global warming and over-population

Controversial.

But after these seemingly ever more frequent incidents occur I do enjoy watching the interviews.

I love hearing the NRA spokesman saying the problem is that more guns are needed in schools, hospitals and Wal Mart etc. I equally enjoy watching the open mouthed interviewer wondering where to go next.

America is a country born out of the barrel of a gun and they've been shooting each other ever since.

In regards to the El Paso murderer, the only thing that is anywhere close to being a leftie is that he stole the name of his so called 'Manifesto' from Al Gore. Other than that ... yep, a Nazi to the core, with a stench of Mein Kampf.

Suspect wrote a 'manifesto,' police say
Crusius is believed to have authored a racist, anti-immigrant document that laid out a dark vision of America overrun by Hispanic immigrants.
With the hate-filled writing, which authorities called a 'manifesto,' were the words: "I'm probably going to die today."
The four-page document, titled "The Inconvenient Truth," was published on the online message board 8chan about 20 minutes before the shooting. The writing is filled with white supremacist language and racist hatred aimed at immigrants and Latinos, and the author says he opposes "race mixing" and encourages immigrants to return to their home countries. https://www.cnn.com/2019/08/05/us/el-paso-suspect-patrick-crusius/index.html

The Dayton shooter is more obtuse, but hardly a liberal. Sounds closer to Trumps insistence that all mass murderers are mentally ill ... in his childish and simplistic way.

On reflection - and it shouldn't take a boy genius to recognise this - there's a long association between the eco-nazis known as the "Greens" and Nazism so perhaps "Nazi" is an apposite epithet. Hitler was very keen on conservation and tree-planting, and the modern Greens parties have their origin in post-war Germany. He too was interested in keeping the German race pure - although given America's long history of immigration there can't be much that's racially pure among such mongrels

1. Raise minimum driving age to 17 years old.

2. Strict enforcement on use of mobile phones by drivers.

3. Stricter measures on drunk driving.

I read somewhere [citation needed] that mobile phone use has surpassed drunk driving and speeding as number one cause of accidents.
Speeding could be controlled very easily, but electronically setting a maximum speed, according to the country's maximum speed.
Drunk driving and mobile phone use more difficult to enforce.

Traffic accidents should be separated in cars and motorbikes. I just read somewhere [citation needed] that in Thailand most traffic victims are motorbike drivers, and of those most didn't wear a helmet.

.What a wuss you are. It's quite evident from the chart I posted that the minimum driving age should be 25. As for drunk driving what do you think the impact of legalising marijuana is going to be? And, how do you expect me to post on SGT if I can't do it while I'm driving while stoned?

For once I have to agree with the Village Idiot.

I have always said the minimum age for driving in the UK should be 25 for the following reasons.

1. Less traffic on the road, so the rest of us can get where we want to go
2. It would make the young ones appreciate their permission (not right) to drive.
3. Lower all round Insurance costs.
4. Less vehicles and pollution and more use of PublicTransport.
5. Less death and destruction.
6. An all round better standard of driving.

I also believe that all cars in the UK should be left hand drive for the following reasons:
A) most cars are driven alone and in the event of a head on collision the driver would be on the inside.
B) easier to park as the driver is on the kerb side of the car.
C) safer when getting out of the car (on the kerb side) instead of in the middle of the road.
D) currently cheaper to buy.

Very soon now.

A driverless car will pick you up and glide you effortlessly to the airport. It will be sunny weather. There you will step onto the moving walkway which will go directly to your plane. On the way the scanner will scan your eye and tell the cabin crew you're coming. They will then prepare your favourite beverage and snacks in anticipation of your arrival.
It's the future.

There is no US driving license, there’s one for each State plus the federal District of Columbia. The US Congress on the other hand can make (limited) laws WRT gun sales for all of the great US of A
