With the term of office of the current Governor-General having now ended, New Zealand will no longer be a nation entirely ruled by women.(the first Western democracy to be so). Did women in charge make a difference? Ah, no.

Apart from one of the few (it seems nowadays) countries to avoid getting itself tangled up in somebody elses war, aside from peacekeeping roles, New Zealand is ranked 18th in the 'World Map of Happiness' ratings. It tops the list for the country with the highest proportion of above-average growth companies, it is ranked 2nd in the countries listed with the 'bluest sky' (Bay of Islands came 2nd to Rio di Janeiro, Brazil). New Zealand is currently ranked number one in the world rugby union rankings. In Infant mortality it comes 192nd (which is good) out of 226, its rated 1 for political freedoms, equal first in literacy and is the 2nd least corrupt nation in the world.

It all sounds pretty good with women at the helm to me, although what role they had in making the sky blue'er and the rugby team number one I cannot vouch for!
