Those of our members who visit Silom Soi 4 (that’s in Bangkok, gerefan2) - and I stress I am not of that number, having never visited Thailand or Pattaya - and who hanker for their mother’s cooking may enjoy the three alternative roast dinners Balcony are now providing nightly - chicken (350 baht), lamb (450 baht) and duck (also 450 baht). The chicken comes with seasoning and the lamb with mint sauce. Both are accompanied by roast potatoes, carrots, broccoli and baby corn (for those who have that as a special interest). The vegetables are much crisper than what’s on offer in another restaurant in that Soi, but it’s not the fine dining that Marsillius seeks. Or so it seems - I’ve never been there, you understand

What about the duck? Was the breast tender and dressed appropriately?

And you were planning to share with us this promotion? Or are you just trailing around like Marys little lamb to point score?

My suggestion is for the Yupins camera crew to load up their equipment and ol' Looney and hot foot it off to Balcony. There they can film said Looney and Frequent enjoying a roast dinner together and arguing about whether the lamb came from Houston and if the chicken is spanking fresh.

Klik on the Daily RoastI’m merely quoting from the laminated card that was thrust at me (you know, real life, not something you found on the Internet) - or would have been had I been there rather than in beautiful Houston. I suppose we could ask sglad to bestir himself from his Sukhumvit lair and verify it. After all he’s very up to date with other Soi 4 premises eg. Banana Boys for someone who poses as a resident of Singapore

While we’re on the subject of food, I’m wondering if any of our posters are vegans (no animal products in any way). When gay vegans have oral sex, do they swallow?

Maybe there were some typos in frequent's post.
I forwarded the thread to the owner for the exact situation last night and he replied "Lamb and Duck are only available at weekends – Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Lamb is 425 Baht and Duck is 325 Baht http://www.balconypub.com/#prettyPhoto/15/

Roast Chicken is available every night and is 285 Baht http://www.balconypub.com/foodmenu/#page/7 item 73. It does not come with “seasoning” – it comes with 'stuffing'. ''

In response to another post -- I am not vegan but a bit of an hypocritical vegetarian (I eat eggs, cheese etc.).
I often eat items off the Balcony menu but specify to the waiter that I want a vegetarian version (even though it is not mentioned on the menu). The results are delicious, my favourites being Masaman Curry JAY and Panang Curry JAY.

In a restaurant, if you want non spicy specify mai pet.

No animal suffers from it's donation (well, it depends on the method of course).

No animal suffers from it's donation (well, it depends on the method of course). Why is that relevant?

Clearly “the owner” has no idea what goes on in his own bar. I ate there mid-week and had the lamb. “Stuffing” and “seasoning” are interchangeable terms when it comes to chicken IMHO

So there we have it. My attachment from Balcony said 275 for the Chicken, the boss says 285 and The Fossil Freak paid an extortionate 350.

Now I don't like seeing gullible people getting ripped off, but in this case I will make an exception.

more to the point, if this is "just like mother used to make" you probably have a good case for child abuse

Yes maybe you are right. Something must have gone terribly wrong in the early years!

Yes maybe you are right. Something must have gone terribly wrong in the early years!I’d get those cataracts seen to, gerefan2 - I posted in my most recent post that I had the lamb, and no one is disputing that price. However, as you should very well known, it was all a dream as I’ve never ever been to Thailand and am busy teaching Latin in Houston to 14 year olds
