Hi everyone,

It will be my second time in Thailand, first time in Pattaya. I'm going to stay there for 8 days in May and although I'm already set with my to-see-places in terms of typical tourist attractions, I was wondering if you could recommend some good:

- gay bars with twinks (I don't mind bars where you can look only with no possibility of offing, as long as there are some eye candies) - I usually don't drink alcohol, so an extra question - is ordering water only or soft drinks frowned upon or not really?
- gay message (good one with professional masseurs rather than amateurs, no need for happy ending)
- beaches to relax and chill

I will be staying very close to Boyztown, which as I read here on the forum is rather deterioring, is that still valid and true and I should be looking at Jomtien as my main destination during the stay?

And on top of that, quick question regarding safety - is this city safe for solo travelers? Any specific areas I should not be visiting alone?

Thanks a lot for your kind replies, advices, tips (and tricks).

Bars with twinks...Cupidol and Toyboys in BT
Winner Boys in Sunee Plaza. Must get there as it opens or they are all offed!

Everything, and everybody, in Pattaya is offable.

Soft drinks are no problem at all.

Massage: Dont know, not my scene! Same same beaches.

Boyztown is not as big as it was some years ago, but is still a must for a first time visitor. Staying nearby is a good idea.

Jomtien is different to BT. No gogo bars and only 2 bars with shows (thankfully). Many, many bars (all with boys) and quite a few good restaurants.Plenty of twinks in Jomtien.
If and when it gets permission for gogo bars it will take over everything!

Safety. Probably the safest City in the world. But don't be daft and carry large amounts of money, expensive phones or lots of jewelry. Only take out what you don't mind losing! There aren't any no go areas (unlike London nowadays).

Lock everything away in the room if you have a boy visiting...just in case.

You'll be back for more! Its addictive

Been foolishly believing Trump again? When challenged he was unable to say where in London these "no go areas" are.

I'm more of an observer than a participant nowadays but I can confirm that there are a number of bars which specialise in twinks. Massage joints in the Day-Night area (behind Tuc-Com) of which there are a number, usually have a some of their employees sitting around outside and invariably some are twinks. The Jomtien Complex's gay soi is more lively than Boyztown these days. No go-go but host bars, staffed predominantly by Cambodians. Even so, after twenty years of visiting., I still prefer Boyztown.

By the way,no-go areas in London? Please tell me where, since I live there and the views of someone who lives thousands of miles away may well save my life. Of course, it may be that my own road is a no-go area and the fact that it's multi -racial (my God, it even has Muslims!) probably means-in the eyes of some, particularly Trumpian red-necks- that I should get out quickly and find a gated-community in Florida.

Following Brad's comment, which was evidently posted at the same time as mine, I recall that poor old Trumpie, revealing the early signs of dementia, was referring to Birmingham, not London.
I think he may have seen a photo of a guy in a turban on Fox News.

Having lived (and still do) in and around London for over 50 years...not thousands of miles away (only 20)...and not American as some of you imply, I can assure you that there are areas which I prefer not to go to (there watered it down a bit). You understand.

"Prefer not to go to" is a long way away from "no go area". There are areas of most capitals that I'd prefer not to go to!

Hop on the back of a motorcycle taxi and say "Sunee". For 50 baht they will drop you in front of Nice Boys Go Go Bar where you where you can be an observer and a participant. While in the area check out Winners Bar and see if that is to your liking, being a MFAS free bar. Only chance to check them out so don't miss out on that while you are in Pattaya.
Really want to try out your limits try Eros.

For Boystown I personally enjoyed Dream Boys because my "friend" had a friend that worked there.

Same as Sunee, hop another Motorcycle taxi and check out the gay section of Jomtien Beach beer bars /gay area.
Eight days/nights you should check out the whole place and not be bored just in Boystown.

During the late afternoon I often go to the movies with a guy I have met. For me it is fun and relaxing. An ice cream before the movie.. a stroll around the mall and then back to the hotel for a bit of sodomy.. or just a nap. A good LOS afternoon.

Thank you all for your kind replies, this allows to plan and spend my time there more efficient and explore every nook and cranny of Pattaya (hopefully both literally and metaphorically).

Posts relating to using motorcycles, motorcycle taxis and insurance have been moved to a separate topic in the Sawatdee Gay Thailand forum entitled, Motorcycles, motorcycle taxis and insurance in Thailand.

I have also gone down to the local gym and gotten a day pass and worked out.
If you can find one where the bar boys work out it can be lots of fun chatting up the boys. Making dates with the boys..etc.
