My friend is going next week to Pattaya and might need some. When I was there last time I saw it for 1,000 baht.My friend says that is expensive, and in the states its less than half that but my buddy was too embarrassed to ask the doc for a prescription after he had told him he was visiting Thailand.I guess it has an unfair rap about it,many prostitutes or so it seems.Do they sell it in pharmacies or do you need a doctors rx?Oh,by the way,my friend says its not for him but that sometimes the go go boys need it and he doesnt want them to be unable to do their job. :bounce:

Viagra (Sildenafil Citrate) is not for everyone and if your friend cannot talk to his Doctor he should at least read www.viagra.com (http://www.viagra.com) about possible constraints or complications especially for anyone with heart problems. Perhaps he would feel more comfortable talking to a Thai Doctor?

One can buy Kamagra (same stuff but made in India by a slightly different method) for about 900 baht for 12 x 100 mg lozenges. If your friend has not used this stuff before then he should start with a quarter pill. Shop at the pharmacy next door to Bamboo Bar in Jomtien for best prices of all erectile disfunction medecines.

Thanks Tee Pee,I was joking about who its for.Of course its for me,Im in my forties but sometimes I need the stuff.Ive used viagra before with good results.I think it was half a pill and got the job done.I have no serious heart problems, except for a brindle branch blockage, which is a bypass of the electrical current used to pump the heart. My doc told me not to worry about it so i wont.It seems rather common as a coworker of mine has it also.

So you do have heart problem, and you did not check with your doctor about taking Viagra?...well, good luck.

I recently watched a documentary on counterfeit prescription drugs. Some are simply useless while others contain some pretty harmful stuff. The reproductions are so visually authentic that they are indistinguishable by pharmacists. I wouldn't be looking for bargains in back alleys.

Any more reports on reputable places to score some Viagra in Pattaya area would be appreciated. I'm sure there are alot of people on sawatdee who would be interested in this info but are too shy to post on the topic:-)

How does this work? Can you just walk in and pick it up from the shelf?

If you do not want to talk to your doctor about it, at least educate yourself as to some of the possible risks or problems. The FDA has some good information at: http://www.fda.gov/cder/drug/InfoSheets ... filPIS.htm (http://www.fda.gov/cder/drug/InfoSheets/patient/sildenafilPIS.htm)
The site states that some of the side effects are: headache, flushing, upset stomach, stuffy or runny nose, urinary tract infection,
diarrhea. They also state that you should not take sidenafil citrate if you take: any medicines called тАЬnitrates,тАЭ use recreational drugs called тАЬpoppersтАЭ like amyl nitrate and butyl nitrate, or have been told by your health care professional not to have sexual activity because of health problems.
I have never experienced anything except flushing and a slight headache and that is because I took too large of an initial dose. I have found that about 25 mg dose is fine for me. I usually buy a packet of four, 100 mg pills which can be purchased in almost any pharmacy in Pattaya. I then quarter the 100 mg. diamond shaped pills, and have 16 doses. You will have to experiment and see what works for you. I have never been asked for a doctor's prescription when I buy sidenafil citrate in southeast asia. I find the Kamagra is much cheaper than Pfizer's Viagra, and works just as well for me. I do not remember what the Thai pharmacies charge for Kamagra. The last time I bought a supply was on a visa run in Cambodia. I paid around $2.50 US (around 100 baht) for one packet of four pills.

I agree. I would just get the pills from a hospital in Thailand. Of course you may have to pay the doctor consultation fee (usually around 250 baht), but you know for sure the pills are authentic. For me, I have not use Viagra yet, but I need Perpecia (for hair lost). And I don't buy Perpecia from regular pharmacy, I always to go to hospital, pay the doctor fee, and get real pill there. Still, even with doctor fee, it is a lot cheaper than in the U.S.

Sathorn 2 Proceed with caution - they look absolutely identical?

I appreciate your warning and there are many given big publicity by Pfizer but though I have bought ED medications all over Thailand I have yet to find any that don't work or hear of any such incident from others. I have heard of fakes being sold on the internet.

Currently I am using, on occasion, Kamagra bought in Myanmar and costs me US$2 for 4 tabs. In the UK from my Doctor I was paying, years ago, US$256 for 4 tablets. I know that they have been forced to reduced the price of Viagra by the generics produced, legally, in India.

Hi Rocket, I usually buy my viagra in bulk. It saves a little money and I'm well stocked for about a year. There is a pharmacy, can't recall the name, but as you leave Boystown, you make a left and walk about half a block down toward Royal Garden. Last time in Pattaya, I negotiated 20 100 mg viagra pills for 8000 baht. Usually about a third of the pill does the trick.

If you want to avoid fake Viagra, buy Indian made generic V, like Kamagra. Much cheaper, works fine, and much less likely to be a fake. It is a REAL generic. Indian made generics are quite decent in general. Why throw your money to the greedy US pharma companies?????

Why throw your money to the greedy US pharma companies?????

You mean the "greedy" that actually spent years and years and millions and millions of dollars developing and testing the product? And have extremely rigid quality control measures in place so that you can take it safely? Yeah, I could think of a few reasons why you might want to buy their product instead of the Indian knock-offs.

Another victim of BIG PHARMA propoganda. Yes, they deserve a fair profit. No, not an obscene profit. Indian generics are fine, and like I said, a much better chance to be AUTHENTIC. Indian generics are not illegal copies. Do you always demand brand names when there is a generic available? If so, you are a fool, but I knew that already.

I would prefer not to take ANY chance with generics, especially when produced in any third world country known for its fakes.

Your 'much better chance' is akin to Russian roulette, one bullet in the chamber so you have
'a much better chance' of not dying than if there were two.

Stupidity at its best.

Indian generics are not illegal copies

WRONG.

They are not illegal IN INDIA, where patent rights are lacking (for the time being; the US is pressing very, very hard).

They ARE illegal in Thailand, where Pfizer owns the patent rights to sildenafil citrate for many years to come. They are also illegal almost anywhere else in the world other than India.

I respect Indian science. I do not respect Phizer patents. If they are authentic Indian generics, they are definitely good enough. And like I said, because "real" V is so expensive, that is where the counterfeit operators are operating. They are generally not trying to counterfeit generics. Throw your money away if you want.

The BIG PHARMA companies do not need God.
Are you American?
Do you know how BIG PHARMA is raping Americans consumers?
I have no sympathy for them. They own the government. It is now illegal for Americans to bring in even their own meds from abroad. Due to the BIG PHARMA lobby.
I am not arrogant. I am for real people getting their health care needs met without going bankrupt. What is arrogant about that?

Thank goodness I am certainly NOT an American,

Your arrogance is in claiming that Indian generics may be OK when you have no medical facts to substantiate that claim. The Indian pharma' trade is built on fakes of both authentic and generic drugs.

If you wish to put your own health at risk feel free to do so, but you should not encourage others to follow your own foolhardy acts.

That old chap is where you arrogance shows.

I wonder what Thaiquila thinks his life expectancy would be without the drugs invented and developed by the big bad pharma companies? I reckon he'd have about six months of retirement to enjoy before shuffling off to the big boy bar in the sky.

Kamagra contains the same ingredient as Viagra. It is no more or less dangerous than Viagra. Period.
FAKE Viagra or FAKE Kamagra could be dangerous.
The issue is to find the sources of authentic meds or authentic generics.
