A few days findings. Boyfriend and Sunee are deserted most of the time and it's hard to believe it's December and 'high season'. Sept and Oct were both busier. Where is everyone?

The weather has been very hot as mentioned elsewhere and we've enjoyed the clear skies and bright stars. Motorcycling has been as much fun as it always is. Even last night at about 8.00pm somewhere 30 kms south of Pattaya and despite the constant barage of insects into me it was still a hoot.

I haven't managed to find as many new boys as I would have liked and so have fallen back on previous applicants for most of my offs. Service has been excellent. Two massages so far and both have been wonderful. One was with W and he's still got his unique thing.

Inspector Arsenal has been wearing his deerstalker to uncover large scale theft and corruption.
The lady in the sports bar on the corner in Boyztown shortchanged me giving me two 5 baht coins for 15 baht change. I told them I'd noticed, withheld the twenty baht tip and left.
A certain restaurant has staff that when the bill arrives puts water down as "service charge" thereby pocketing the cash for themselves. This doesn't affect me so the tip is still given. I've never reviewed this restaurant here so it's none of those.

THE WAITER IN THE THAI RESTAURANT ON THE LEFT AS YOU ENTER JOMTIEN COMPLEX OPPOSITE THE CHINESE GUESTHOUSE/RESTAURANT IS A CUNT AND TAKES THE TIPS OUT OF THE FOLDER AND PUTS THEM IN HIS POCKET.

It's quite fun in BT to watch the mass exodus at midnight as the entire place de-camps to Boys Music. Considerably quieter during the week so better chance of securing the boy you like. Service is good and for now at least, prices are reasonable.

Down to Bang Saray for a few meals and both taken in Jejuk. Excellent quality food and service. Once with a friend and once alone. Yesterday's fantastic good and the sound of the waves along with the music was almost perfect except for the staff member sitting close by and playing computer games on his phone with the volume up.

Phala Beach is maybe 1 1/2 hours south of Pattaya and close to U-tapeo. It's undeveloped with a few restaurants, some simple accommodation nearby and would be a nice place to spend a day and a night. No more though.

Jomtien is still bucking the trend for emptiness and packing in the punters. The identikit bars seem to attract the majority of the elderly Desperado Hi-So set. Good for them.

X-Boys still go into karaoke mode after 2.00am and my two offs from there have been very good. One was a thrice previous candidate and the other worked at Royal House massage. A bit of musical chairs down the sou with boys from X-Boys going to Dreamboys and vice versa. A sort of people exchange with all parties saying they much prefer their new place of employment.
To be continued.......

One assumes the Sports Bar is Green Bar/Green Chairs Bar. No problem with change.

I enjoy your Thai and seafood reviews, especially of the out-of-the-way restaurants. Can we have more of those please, instead of those yucky English breakfasts? Also suggestions on how to get to them if one doesn't have their own transport would be welcome by most readers, I'm sure.

Yes. The Shamrock Bar.

Sglad. Without transport Bang Saray is difficult to get to. To be honest the motorbike ride along the beach as the sun sets is part of it for us as is the visit to the fishing pier to see the Cambodian fishing boys in their underwear.

Tonigut I met the owner of Boys Music. He's animated, looks like Roy Orbison and French. So I see no reason why our French Ambassador can't go down there and over a glass of vintage wine negotiate VIP status for the Hi-So of this board. Good luck Francois.

Correction.
Not The Shamrock Bar. It was Sugar Shack.

I guess if you don't have a personal transport to the fishing pier to see the Cambodian fishing boys in their underwear, the alternative is to stay put in Jomtian where numerous other Cambodian lads are at the ready to fish your underwear.

The original Sports Bar was many moons ago where Double Shot is today....I was also called the Deng Bar....Deng being the owner.

The show at Boyz Music last night was so vibrant and full of energy that some members of the audience were literally throwing money at the stage.

In the words of Barry Manilow this place is currently "The hottest spot North of Havana." *

Actual geography is Havana is 10 degrees north of Pattaya.

Who is Barry Manilow, a geographer?

Except our ambassador is French Canadian and to my understanding that is about as French as a Patpong Rolex is to the real one.

You had me worried, Arsenal, when I read the origainal post. The Shamrock Bar, as we all know, is opposite Penthouse Hotel and hosts the same bored neanderthals slugging on their Singhas, while slagging off the gay guys 'round the corner.

I'm sure I've written about this bar before: it's the pits, in my opinion. You want to hear them: "Fuc@@@@ poofters" etc.etc.

Here is what I wrote back inFeb 2017....

About five years ago I was staying at the Café Royale in Pattayaland Soi 3, when, during the night or during the previous evening, I was bitten by something. I have never worked out whether it was a spider, mosquito or mamasan – all of them equally poisonous. There were two distinctive puncture wounds side by side on the top of the foot and another a little way up on the lower shin. I didn’t think much about it and the next day I set off for a quick drink at that bar directly opposite the Cattery (Penthouse) in Soi 2, where there is always a small group of the barely breathing (all with well lived-in faces) sitting at the little bar by the pavement, slagging off those of us who frequent Boyztown. Have you ever sat there and listened to that group (who resemble a troupe of actors promoting Last of the Summer Wine)? Why? Why do I frequent those places, which I do once or twice on each trip to Thailand? Another is the Sin Bin Irish bar in Soi 1. Why do I go there? Why the bloody hell do I go there and drink two or three beers before dinner when quite clearly it’s a hetero bar where one would be well advised not to disclose one’s sexuality!
“You’re staying where?”
“Café Royale.”
“But that’s a hotel for fuc……..”

I think I make these occasional expeditions into the dire ‘straights’ just to take a breather from the gay scene with its screechy ladyboys and greedy mamasans. I wonder if any of you ever do the same. Do you ever feel that you just want to sit quietly in a bar that is not specifically gay and relax over maybe one or two drinks before returning to the chase?
I sat and listened to the tripe from those propping up that bar in Soi 2 and found myself shaking my head in despair at the level of conversation, some of which was directed at the gay community around the corner. They have a new name perhaps it’s not a new name, but I have never heard it before) for gays: “Poodle walkers!!” How many of us have bloody poodles? I have never seen a poodle anywhere near Boyztown! Imagine the looks and comments as you march confidently into the Ambiance with a huge French poodle on a leash!! The Soi 2 bar? Awful and the menu is farcical; littered with nuances and bylines such as: Big Breakfast - if the cook can be bothered to cook it! I have promised myself never, never to return to that place. Why the hell didn’t I cross the road to chat to Dudley – a gentleman, and very welcoming where gay clientele are concerned, although the Cattery is awash with frighteningly muscular heteros!

Epilogue.

Well another great visit. It started with a most enjoyable vignette, arriving at 5.00am the immigration was deserted and one of the officers was dozing. I have him a big loud HELLO and he woke with a slight start but saw the funny side. I was actually laughing as I looked at the camera which I think you're not supposed to do.

Offs data. I had 7 offs and 2 masseur.
The offs.

LJ. I've had him before from Toy Boys and he was fine without excelling. I told him I remember him smoking better last time but he replied that I must be thinking of some one else as he always does it that way. Great reply and nothing to argue with so good for him.

T. A 4 times off from Nice Boys. Always great company and his spanking hot new motorcycle proves the Desperados are happy and returning customers.

S. A new addition to the legendary Arsenal's club class, also from Nice Boys. Lean and lythe with a broad smile his kissing was passion beyond the call of duty and he could use his mouth the impart ecstasy in the other areas. An exceptionally skilled practitioner.

O. A third time off, also from Nice Boys he is the absolute cutest of cute boy next door types. Floppy haired and never not smiling a couple of hours with him is always great fun. He also possesses perhaps the world's pertest arse.

N. Collected him from X-Boys. Rather classically good liking without an ounce of body fat I'd had him for a massage in RH previously. He speaks little English but who the fuck cares when he behaved as if he'd offed me and was going to get his money's worth. He literally followed me while I was making us both coffee and started doing his thing again. Magnifique.

T. He'll get a piece 'T and I' sometime in the future.

M. The times offed before, this time from X-Boys and I would describe him as good value. He performs well and has a nice personality. Only recently teturned from Laos he speaks very hood but there's always something that comes with him. IE he wants to eat as soon as you off him or he asks for money to buy cigarettes or he asks for more money in the room. Oh well.

The masseur's.

N. Quite muscly I found him at RH but he also works at Dreamboys. His massage, as I've written before was amazing being firm, sensual and a pleasure for the whole hour. Sexually he was right on the money and so this customer was very satisfied.

W. My favourite massage boy of all time I enjoyed his unique services twice and so becomes the first escort worker to be lucky enough to enjoy my company 10 times. His massage is sublime with his own W 'special' and his conversation is worth the tip by itself. Whereas others talk about the usual stuff W goes through his monthly accounts explaining how much this and that costs compared to last month or year. His constant irritation at the cost of living and his so precise maths calculations are a joy to listen to. He can also talk about world politics and will happily discuss Thailand and it's future as well as US/Sino relations and his view of Brexit. Beautiful boy.

Final dose of pleasure as I was leaving, also at the airport. SInce my first solo trip to Morocco many years ago I've always found that a polite, well spoken Englishman giving a nice 'hello' and a smile will receive VIP treatment wherever he goes in the world. This is my experience and it's my experience again and again. At Swampy I was delighted that the check in lady searched long and hard to find me 3 seats together so a good sleep was possible. (no business class with Spring Airlines but they fly direct to my local aerodrome) At security I was waved through and had a lovely laugh and a joke with the lady while the middle easterners were all given thorough goings over with the bomb detector. At Burger King I was embarrassed for two (dunno where from) blokes who managed to place and receive their entire order without using either the words please or thank you.

Yep. An Englishman abroad is a good thing to be.

There are many comments on gaythailand about Boys Music being Chinese owned. I can't imagine a Chinese owned bar having a French manager so I assume that ownership rumour is incorrect.

What kind of manager do you think a Chinese-owned bar would hire? The Chinese are not showy - they just want to make money and have some control of the area as it's too risky owning just one business entity without your family, kinsmen or at least fellow countrymen owning other businesses in the area for mutual protection and benefit. If the Frenchman is the one whom they feel would be the most loyal (ie do as he's told) and be able to bring in the most customers, then he's the one they would hire. They are not (yet) interested in being the face of the businesses they own in Thailand as they're aware that local attitudes towards them are still ambivalent. Therefore most mainland-Chinese-owned businesses are still being fronted by Thais or other foreigners. Another possibility is that the bar is owned by a company of which the Frenchman is one of the partners/shareholders.

Me to Boyz Music manager. "Is that the owner?"
Manager to me. "Yes."
Me to Boyz Music manager. "He doesn't look Chinese."
Manager to me. "He's French."

That's all I have on the issue. A direct conversation with the manager of Boyz Music.

It's probable that the confusion comes from differing definitions of the word. The money is Chinese even if the management isn't. Both Ambiance and LCR have had vast amounts spent on them over the past few months....the origin of this money is China and there are two different Chinese investors or investment syndicates (if that's the right word). When you think of it, people who have such vast sums to invest are unlikely to be around the premises much.
