View Full Version : Have they been defeated?

Where have they all gone? Not a noisy, helmetless, fast motorbike to be seen anywhere near Soi 17 or Yensabai. And it is not even Ramadan....
Look at these sad pictures this evening (Sunday) at 2100 hours. Streets deserted, restaurants closed or empty, Shops up for rent ...
Well they bought it upon themselves... but look what they have left us with:

Top two are what is left of Two guys,

Next pic is the Soi leading to Yensabai Condo taken from outside the defunct Casino.

This Soi used to contain a bookshop, a laundry, an Italian Restauant and even a gogo Bar! Nothing left of them. The Belgian restaurant (Sanongs) struggles on.

Last pic is an example of empty shop fronts in Soi Yensabai.

Shame it will never return to the way it was.

High season for those [Deleted text] Arabs is opposite most others high season it is when their [Deleted text] countries are unbarebly hot, most of those assholes on the bikes are Kawaiti and come here on their long summer brakes...if you know where the Paradise hotel is it will be full of these [Deleted text] as well as the small hotels that pepper the streets that surround Sunee.

Some of the text in this post has been deleted as it violated rule 4.7.

Yes you are right. I had forgotten about that...was just so god smacked at what I saw around Soi 17 and Yensabai now.

I suppose it was some form of wishful thinking.

I miss the italian restaurant. I've had many dinners there and the italian boss was such a nice guy.
What gogo bar was on that soi? That was before my time.

The Italian restaurant moved to the Soi opposite Tukcom, so you may find all you miss there!

The gogo Bar was operating for only a short period, probably around 2007 at a guess.i forget its name, (maybe Amigo) but it might even have been in the same shop that became the Italian restaurant, if not next door!

But only recently our esteemed management team (Moses and a447) vehemently asserted that a poster can't be guilty of racism if the targets of his prejudice are not a race - as Arabs are not.

Surely MFAS should demand the deletions been re-instated - unless of course there are different rules for different posters.

Located in Pattaya South, Yensabai Condotel features free WiFi, 1.2 km from Walking Street Pattaya and 1.4 km from Pattaya - Hua Hin Ferry.

The accommodation comes with a TV and a private bathroom with shower and free toiletries, while the kitchen has a microwave. Some units have a seating area and/or a terrace.

The aparthotel offers an outdoor pool.

A casino can be found at Yensabai Condotel, along with a garden.

I would like to know more about this. I have never noticed it.

Can you be a bit more precise?
Still the same name?

of course they could just have been obscene, hateful or threatening rather than racist

It is in the Soi which runs down the side of Tukcom on the Boyztown side. I don’t know the name of the Soi but it contains several well known restaurants, Deli Diner (closed) Cusiine au Beurre (spelling) petite Planet. It’s in the same row.

Menu very plain. Average price.

Dont think it’s the same name as before. I’m assuming it moved...

Pic of it below and pic of the Soi with Tukcom on the right looking towards second road, and finally a pic of my pizza.

I'm not sure it's as clear-cut as you say http://www.newworldencyclopedia.org/entry/Arab

I searched that very source before making my comment - I try not to leave anything to chance on a board populated by several snarling hyenas:

Here is the Google search result:

"Arab - New World Encyclopedia
www.newworldencyclopedia.org/entry/Arab

23 Mar 2018 - An overwhelming majority of Arabs are Muslim, members of the faith founded by the .... Race: The term "Arab" does not refer to a particular race.
‎"Defining" an "Arab" · ‎History · ‎Religions · ‎Culture"

But as you please - as far as I'm concerned the above seems as clear cut as anything can possibly be - and it's the very source you point to.

Love it when people quote rules and legalese

I find it's entirely apposite to refer such people to the reply given in the case of Arkell v Pressdram.

Love it when people quote rules and legalese

I find it's entirely apposite to refer such people to the reply given in the case of Arkell v Pressdram. The rule is rather in the nature of a super-injunction so beloved of British courts in recent days - the injunction forbids discussion of the event and the super-injunction forbids discussion that the underlying injunction even exists. Trafigura is the most famous of these https://www.theguardian.com/world/2009/oct/16/trafigura-carter-ruck-the-guardian

My favourite recent injunction is the “Celebrity Threesome” where (if you live in Britain please shut your eyes now as you are not allowed to read this) Elton John prevented the publication of news that his “husband” had indulged in threesomes - involving baby oil apparently - with other men. This despite EJ announcing that neither of them intended to keep their marriage vows. His reason for seeking such an injunction? To protect his kiddies!

I've eaten there too. Don't like it at all.
Not same name and I've never seen the guy who ran Voltera near Yensabai condo there. What makes you think it is him who started a new restaurant there? It obviously dudn't "move" since it's not the same name.

Yes I know this place.
Rather average.

Thanks for your follow up.
I too wonder why you thought it was related to Volterra.

lonelywombat

I have eaten a number of times each trip over the last few years and that is before Volterra closed. The owner used to sit out front with his friends but seems to have lost interest or is overseas. He was very keen on operatic videos and had some excellent choices.
The menu is unchanged and seems to be looking aged.
Wine prices are good and I usually go there when I need a rest from beer.
Several times this last trip I was the only client but a few locals order pizza which the staff deliver
Volterra was an owner chef, here is an employed chef and not the same quality.

Ok, I might have been wrong. I recall Voltera closing and I thought this place opened at the same time.
I assumed it had moved .
Sorry!
PS. That pizza was very average, I get a better one in Lewinskis near Boyztown.
