does anyone know where in Bangkok to go, and what paperwork does a Thai need for a Passport?

Friend has his house papers and ID, anything else required.

Cheers

Nothing else is required. There's an office at Central Bangna.

ID card is good enough, house papers not needed.

Fees : 1,000 baht for a passort; 70 baht (?) for a digital photo taken on site; 35 baht (?) for sending the passport by mail ( if required ).

... under the impression that it took up to one week for a Thai person to get a passport. However, my friend informs me things have changed and that now it is possible to apply and pick it up in the same day. You may want to check on this however.

Thanks for the comments. did a little surfing and a couple of calls later we found that we can get the passport in a day at BKK and also in CM.

He only needs his ID - but TIT - we will take all papers we have. Let you know next week how it went.

Cheers

BF already packed for CM - what is it about the place they love?

Just back from Cm.

Passport news - easy as falling off a log/bed, boy or whatever. Just the ID and two pics for him and 3 hours later we left with new Passprot in hand. Great staff.

we stayed at the Santitham Gusest House, santitham.com.

Noland and Bum (pronounced this way, not sure of the spelling) are the most generous and accommodating Owners/Hosts you could ever wish to meet.

The rooms and house are out of this world, the garden is beautiful beyond description. Quirky decorations - just wander the house and you will see what I mean.

Value - can not be beaten in CM.

House dogs - lovely and friendly, never in the house, never bark, just love you to bits every morning.

House Maid - I am guilty of forgetting her name. A lovely Lady who does the most amazing fresh fruit breakfast.

Back to this thread, Passport easy and also my Re-entry all completed in 4 hours.
